New 'The Final Destination' One Sheet Confirms August 28 Date
Monday, June 15, 2009

Until now it hasn't been clear on if The Final Destination would be hitting theaters August 28th, as the previous one sheet had just teased an "August" release. This afternoon we got our hands on the latest poster rocking the "Real D 3D" logo and a hearty August 28th date. What does this mean? Dimension Films officially has some competition as The Final Destination will be going toe-to-toe with H2, Rob Zombie's sequel to Halloween. Michael Myers vs Death, who will win the battle of the titans? Only time will tell.

Seeing as how not many people liked the Halloween remake, I'm gonna say FD4 will win this contest. Plus, it has the 3D aspect on it's side. Just my thoughts.

WELL, that was disappointing. I thought it was gonna be a brand new one sheet :( cool though.

Was expecting a different and better poster, especially with the main guy on it instead of a girl. Disappointing as well.

even though i'm NOT a FD fan and i WILL be seeing H2 (and am excited for it) i, too, think that FD will win this bout.

It's hard to root against Michael Myers but I'm for The Final Destination 3D to win this. Rob you ruined a horror icon now it's time for your wife, your friends (you know the guys who are always in every one of your movies), Malek, your fanboys, and especially yourself to get fucked up the ass.

RZ may be my favorite musician, but if i have to choose one, im going 3D. but, is there a rule saying that one can rock the box office friday while the other does saturday?

MichaelMyers1031, um..... hello?! Didn't John Carpenter do the EXACT SAME THING (minus the wife thing)?? Jamie Lee Curtis, Nancy Loomis, Charles Cyphers were ALL in Halloween. They THEN continued to ALL be in The Fog, which is ALSO a Carpenter Film. So, I REALLY do NOT see the big deal!! Better that Rob doesn't get some well known actors/actresses to play the parts because it makes the movie fell more LIKE a movie. Just thought I would point this out. I do expect your opinion though. No hard feelings.

Im going to see both opening weekend..probably H2 first cuz michael myers is still my fav slasher...than FD4 3D....i think horror fans should support both...I think it will be a close box office because fans will go see both over the weekend..what if there was a tie..that would be pretty badass...Still think one of these should have been pushed to October to go with Saw

Both, I say! Why should one ever have to choose between Michael Myers and death...

I'm seeing both, but I'll only pay to see Halloween II.

Rob Zombie is going to blow Final destination away when they both hit the theaters.

i will see both of them

HALLOWEEN II BY A MILE. they're both rated R and depending on marketing, i think if zombie lets people know what the movie is like through advertisement and by word of mouth, Halloween2 will gross much more boxoffice because final destinations are all so damn repetitive. worse than Saw repetitive.

I'll be seeing both, but I'm only buying tix for Final Destination. I am NOT giving H2 or RZ any of my money.

I agree, Goliath Slasher....like or dislike Rob Zombie, he does a great job marketing his own films. Dimension doesn't help much, but with his myspace page, twitter etc...he is able to come up with some pretty good ideas to spread the word on his films. Just look at all the updates he gives, compare that to any other director, for example Friday the 13th, we didn't see and or here much until a few months before the film. FD4 will be no different. Still though FD is a popular series, all the fan boys know its coming out, it'll be close. I'm pulling for H2.

BTW- I do like this poster, so nice to see a horror poster without the actors faces all over it, there's nothing worse....
