Pop Skull Star Extras in 'H2', Talks About Experience

Pop Skull co-writer, producer and actor Lane Hughes writes in with something you Halloween fans might be interested in. Hughes, who was up for a role in Rob Zombie's Halloween II, ended up being an extra at the Phantom Jam in Haddonfield, a big party sequel in zombie's sequel. Below you'll find a video where he's interviewed about his experiences, which can give you some insight into the forthcoming release arriving in theaters August 28th.

Lane Hughes writes in:

"I almost had an audition for H2 but was f*cked out of it last minute due to politics but was determined to get on set because I'm such a huge fan of the series and Rob's music; even if it just meant being an extra.

While there I befriended two other young horror filmmakers from my own hometown I'd never met before! They have two films going to festivals soon and a vlog called "Nothing Special". They interviewed me on the third installment which is a H2 set report. It's a great story in true Gonzo journalism fashion.

We talk about how we got involved with H2, how we met, Pop Skull, and what we saw/experienced on the set. It's a bit lengthy but very fun, entertaining, and informative. It'd be a great companion piece as well as an alternative angle to all the behind-the-scenes stuff Scout and other cast members are posting.
"

http://www.petitiononline.com/robzh2/petition.html To: Weinstein Company/Rob Cummings To: Robert Bartleh Cummings (A.K.A. Rob Zombie) CC: Malek Akkad, Bob & Harvey Weinstein Weinstein Company LLC 345 Hudson St., 13th Fl. New York, NY 10014 RE: Rob Zombies Halloween 2 We, the undersigned, ask that Robert Bartleh Cummings (A.K.A. Rob Zombie), director of Weinstein Company/ Dimension Films upcoming motion picture H2: Halloween 2 reconsider the decision to take the sequel of the re-visioning of Halloween and The Halloween Franchise in the direction in which it has been directed. We feel that Rob Zombies 2007 Re-visioning of Halloween took the film and franchise in a wrong but still salvageable direction. From the information provided by Robert Cummings on the sequel to that motion picture and the trailer released to the internet on youtube.com and movies.yahoo.com. It is clear that he is taking the Halloween franchise further down the spiral from which many fans feel there will be no return. We feel that from the scenes of the trailer and information provided the film looks to be a mimic of a few combined horror motion pictures. We also feel that his casting of Sheri Lyn Skurkis (A.K.A. Sheri Moon Zombie) is not based on acting ability or merit, but due only to the fact he must cast his spouse in every motion picture he directs. Sheri Moon should be omitted from the cast and those scenes be corrected. Another major concern for us fans is that it has been reported by Robert Cummings, other cast and news that Michael Myers will not be wearing the classic William Shatner based mask or any altered or re-envisioned concept of that mask for 70% of the feature motion picture. We the fans ask that Mr. Cummings re-write and re-shoot the film with the deletion of the mentioned scenes and/or plot. We feel that Michael Myers is 100% evil without cause and should be left at that conclusion. If the film is released as it now stands it will without a doubt destroy the entire franchise and become a mockery of what Debra Hill, John Carpenter, Moustapha Akkad, Tommy Lee Wallace and so many others have immortalized in horror motion picture history. Sincerely, Halloween Fans

On myspace, Rob Zombie confirmed that his reimagined sequel to the sequel of the original masterpiece Halloween will also be shown in 3D to compete with FD4. Audiences nationwide will experience celluloid fecal matter thrown at them for 96 minutes of excrutiating boredom. Rob also states that his wife, Sherri, says she's thankful for support and she's almost finished the Larry Stork acting classes.

To Mr. Disgusting and the good folks at Bloody-Disgusting. We the undersigned are dazed, confused, and very tired of a certain whiny son of a %$%#! that calls him or herself Halloweenfranchise. This blog is being bombarded with the dumbest petition ever created that has been cut and pasted two dozen times at minimum on your wonderful site. The undersigned are tired of seeing it posted and would be grateful if it would not be allowed to be posted again and have this blogger blocked until he or she gets a life and grows up. Mr. D, Halloweenfranchise thinks that Robert Cummings herein refered to as Rob Zombie has somehow ruined the Halloween Franchise (My apologies for the pun), however we know better. Those of us that have common sense know that it really began with Halloween 4 and continued through every horrible sequel that came after it. They all sucked badly, but he or she is of the belief that they won Oscar's. Did the mysterious man in black win one? Did George Wilbur with his shoulder pads and white pasty mask? How about that great Halloween 5. I bet Don Shanks was at least nominated, but I could be wrong. We the undersigned pledge to continue to support your site and all of your wonderful post, but we would love to be able to proceed without Franchise's silly, whiny, toilet paper petition hitting us in the face with every new posting. We the undersigned are okay with the direction that Mr. Zombie has taken Michael Myers or are at least willing to see the movie first. A novel approach before reacting so harshly I'd say. Again Mr. D, we the undersigned beg and encourage you to hear our plea and ban HalloweenFranchise from your blogs once and for all. We can't take him or her serious when they base their petition on the fact that Mr. Zombie has ruined the franchise. We beg to differ Mr. D, as we are certain you too have seen the crappy sequels.

Halloweenfranchise; you, sir, are an idiot. Seriously. I don't understand why people think that complaining about a film, and then creating a petition would actually work. What you're doing is just adding interest to the film you so desperately want to see gone. The best way to protest is just to simply not see it. Nothing you say or do is going to affect it. It's just plain annoying. Besides, as a Halloween fan, I am embarrassed by the lame attempt to subdue the film. I don't understand why people think remakes are forbidden, but shitty sequels are "for the fans" (most of the Halloween films are shitty). I give kudos to Rob Zombie for at least trying to break away from the tired formula and deliver something original. Sure, I wasn't a fan of the Halloween remake, but I am very excited to check this new film out. If you're a "true" Halloween fan, you'd see this regardless. Chances are you paid to see that god-awful shitfest Halloween: Resurrection. H2 can't be worse than that.

7:24pm, June 15, 2009

Spook, I think what's around the corner will be worse than that Ressurection. Rob should have named this movie H2 Sherri Ressurected. Let Franchise post his petition...the reactions are priceless.

Spook

I don't think anything can be worse than Resurrection. That film was as low as you can get. I think the last decent Halloween film was H4. That was over 20 years ago. I don't understand why anyone would bitch about this particular film, but accept Resurrection? Makes no sense. I think that H2 looks great. It's different. Something I want in the franchise. And keep in mind, I'm a die hard Halloween fan. The first film is my favorite film of all time. Yet, I can totally acknowledge that most of the franchise is pure, unwatchable garbage. In my opinion, NOTHING can get any worse than Halloween: Resurrection. I'd rather have Michael in space than that piece of shit. And why should Zombie have named it Sherri Resurrection? Because she shows up in the trailer? No one know how much she's even going to be in the film. That's another thing I don't understand. People are shitting on the film before they even see it. Wait until its out and watch it for yourself before you make yourself look like a moron.
