Eli Roth Cameos in 'Piranha 3D'

Looking at Alex Aja's history, I'm starting to think that Piranha 3D has the potential to be EPIC. It's becoming increasingly obvious that the film isn't to be taken too serious and that it's going to be a fun bloodbath. In addition to the odd cameos of porn star Riley Steele and comedian Paul Scheer (awesome), Bloody-Disgusting learned that writer-director Eli Roth cameos as the host of the wet t-shirt contest. 16 hotties and 32 pairs of soaking wet tits, what more can you want from a Piranha movie in 3-D? Oh yeahhhhh, BLOOD! Read on for a bit on that.

A B-D reader sent me the following excerpt from one of the KNB FX guru's blog:

"Between us and the physical FX crew this movie has the potential to out blood the 400 gallons we went through on Kill Bill. Remember Lake Havasu, the jewel in the Arizona desert, well Its red now. LOL. We are currently shooting the Lake massacre scene 100 boats, 500 extras, 400 gallons of blood, lots of screaming, lots of bikins, lots of torn flesh and its all in 3D. Come on!!! Tell me you're not interested in seeing this movie and I'll call you a liar."

More blood than in Kill Bill? Are you kidding me? Seriously, this movie sounds like it has some serious potential to entertain. What do you think?

March 19, 2010 can't come soon enough.

Eli Roth is just the luckiest fan-boy. A hack of a director.

I was completely ambivalent on this film when I first heard about it but the more I hear, the more I get into it. Tons of blood and tits and it doesn't take itself too seriously? Count me in.

But what I wanna know is, will Dr.Mambo make an appearance?

Dr. Mambo...awesome! I always get a kick out of Eli Roth! Pirhana 3-D should be a fun film. I'll check it out. Unfortunately the theaters by me will probably do the 2-D version.

16 hotties and 32 pairs of soaking wet tits............wouldn't their be 16 pairs of tits for 16 'hotties'? 32 individual tits...::sigh:: math fail

BloodyCape....LOL! FAIL indeed. They have to brag about how much blood they are using, FACT: anyone can pour 400 gallons of blood into a movie, even a cheap, crappy student film. Quite honestly, I have to think they exaggerating that number. Thats just under 8, 55 gallon oil drums of blood, give me a break, is saying how much blood they used the only way they can get people's interest? This will make no money and will bomb. This is the type of film that gives the horror genre a bad name. Eli Roth has a cameo, thats one more reason NOT to see this.

Don't click on the news if you don't like a certain project, easy as that! I am very interested in Pirahna, this sounds like something Troma wish they could do. Also, if it's the same FX crew that did Kill Bill then I'm especting some seriously awesome gore. Can't wait, I love everything about this project!

Can't wait, the original is one of my favorites and this looks like a great remake (unlike that one in 1995)

Roth rocks the cameo. Face in Cabin Fever and 2001 Maniacs, Choking on a bong in Hostel and now hosting the wet tittie fest in Piranha! That dude is nothing but class... Bring on the BLOOD!

Somebody's worried about how many gallons of blood were actually used, and then predicts that nobody will be interested in seeing this Aja flick. This cat needs a new crystal ball.

Eli, Please make another vapid, obnoxious, and insubstantial film! I need something to glue my tired eyes shut, and keep them that way long enough for me to sleep through the whizzing of stray bullets and occasional explosion.
