So, basically, he's not actually interested in remaking Funhouse. He's interested in making a movie about a killer in a Funhouse (been done many times, pal), and cashing in on the name during the remake craze. I don't think the original is brilliant, by any means. However, it's not a remake if you toss out the whole premise and use a completely different killer! BTW, for those who like the film, the novelization by Dean Koontz is actually one of his better, leaner works. Much better than the heavy, exposition-laden, self-congratulatory crap he's been putting out for the last 7 or 8 years.
