Late last week the news hit the web that Robert Rodriguez had ''reached out to Arnold Schwarzenegger'' in recent days to cameo as Dutch in Predators - 20th Century Fox and Troublemaker Studios' Predator remake - and that it had been a one way conversation. This afternoon Rodriguez e-mailed AICN to deny the earlier confirmed story (ah the internet!), read on to see what he had to say.

Actually, what probably happened is someone conjured that up because of my 1994 draft, that had Dutch as a main character. And then it probably just built from there.
But no, we're still writing a new script, and although I know Arnold personally and he's the coolest person on the planet, I have not contacted him about this at all at this time.
As promised, I'll keep you posted on such developments since Predator is such a fan favorite.
But then again, he could very well have told someone he'd be into it. Who knows?

While this comes straight from the horses mouth, writers, directors and producers have been known to lie to no end to keep a secret (Rob Zombie anyone?). While he denies any truth to the rumor NOW, it doesn't mean he isn't planning on it in the future (semantics). I've gone through this same bull sh*t here on B-D on numerous occasions and I hope that Arnold makes a cameo just so Moviehole.net can scream, "Told you so!" I'd smoke a cig and shoot a few rounds in the air to that!
Are you calling Robert a horse? I really think Arnold has much bigger problems to concentrate on. Like California's budget woes. I doubt will see him in Predators.
If RR knows what's best for his "Predator" reboot/remake he'll give Arnold a call real soon. Having the governator cameo as 'Dutch' will not only give the project credability, but it'll increase the box office sales seeing Arnold on the big screen again; especially representing a huge popular character from his past other than the 'Terminator'.
And this is why I dont trust anything BD or other websites ever say unless they are reporting on an actual fact. To many sites like for instance bloody disgusting were reporting RR as doing this regardless of RR never, ever saying he was. The internet is so full of shit its disgusting and websites dont care, they say whatever will get them attention. Oh and fuck ahnold, no dutch, no reboots, no remakes, just make a new fucking predator movie.
Look, if Arnold's skin didn't sag like a ninety year old ladies i would say go for it. CGI in Terminator? Come on. You spend all that money making a movie and all you get is an Arnold that looks like a fucking Ken doll. I'm good on this.
And I agree with Gargus. Just make another Predator. It can't be as bad as Predator 2 or AVP.
