Stuff like this used to be a pre-requisite for horror movies until the PG-13ization of the genre took over for a while with the success of films like The Ring, The Grudge, and most other Sam Raimi-produced garbage (The Messengers, Boogeyman, etc.). I'm glad that with films like My Bloody Valentine 3D, Friday the 13th, and now this, horror films are at least attempting to deliver what is expected of them.
