At long last some word on when we might be able to see Michael Dougherty's Trick 'r Treat (review, set visit), the horror anthology from Warner Bros. that has been fighting for a release for quite some time now. After hitting the road in July for a limited theatrical run, you'll finally be able to pick the film up at a retailer near you on either Blu-ray or DVD this October. Read on for the confirmed tour dates thus far (more to come, I hope!) and some other news.
Dougherty e-mailed us with the following dates:

Also arriving in September will be the soundtrack and DC/Wildstorm's new four-issue comic book based on the film that features four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; and a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.
I've never cared for this movie, but I felt sorry for all the creators and the people anticipating it after all the pushing back. But now I'm really excited to see it after such good reviews!
I am excited to see it and my mom was too. I'll have to call her up and be like, "Hey mom, remember that movie you wanted to see like 2 years ago, it's finally coming out!"
I loved this movie when I saw it at a screening and am really looking forward to seeing it again. I feel somehow fortunate I got to see it on the big screen and I still remember most of the movie and what made it so enjoyable. It's just too bad it won't have a wider theatrical release.
I'm going to punt a baby across a football field if this gets pulled AGAIN. I don't even care about a theatrical release anymore. I'm totally fine with a DVD release.
Finally. I as well have been waiting to see this. The trailer and reviews were great. I'll probably just buy it when it's available. I got a good feeling it's a keeper.
I just saw Michael Dougherty and Dylan Baker at the Fango Convention and these guys were so excited about the film. The clips they showed were great so I hope the movie actually gets to be shown in theathers! It would be great to see a new original movie instead of another remake
It's going to be a very awesome feeling to be holding the actual DVD in October, considering how long I've been waiting to see it. Now I'm totally in the Halloween spirit :)
Ah man! Its no where near me =[ I will def buy it tho
