all of these remakes are really starting to get on my nerves, i like the ideas of bringing back iconic cult classics for a new generation to embrace but what the hell, anyone ever heard of Blockbuster Video? these kids can go and rent the greats and still be mezmorised to this day. but really to me they serve as another sequel to the franchizes, however there are a few acceptions to that, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw...other than that im not really impressed, but who am i to say anything im just one person.

what the FUCK are with the WEINSTEINS? first they run off the INSIDE guys off of H2 now it's Laugier with HELLRAISER. WTF?! this DID have some AMAZING potential. DID being the key word. i had a feeling this would happen. the WEINSTEIN'S just suck ass.

I remember several interviews in which Laugier said that if his conditions weren't met, he would leave the project. He didn't want to make any compromises.

The Weinsteins are scarring away any directors who have passion. They are looking for studio directors. So expect them to start fishing in the Music Video Director pool next.

Surprisingly this is the one horror film that should be on the fast track assemblyline for rebootville. Especially w/ the torture porn genre still being the inthing with films like "Saw" still banking $$$$ at the boxoffice. They actually are kinda sleeepin' on a potential moneymaker..

"Hellraiser" was infamous for it's string-up, flying chains of hell torture scenes!! Sorta pre-"Hostel" from the 80's. This film should've been a "GO" long before either "Halo or Friday" had their comebacks!

Actually it was me giving the scoop to Bloody Disgusting (the username FallenAngel666 was already taken, doh). I took the info from the official Clive Barker page, which linked to his twitter account, so i guess it's genuine. Yes, it's a bummer. I'm strictly against a Hellraiser remake, cause i think it's perfect as it is. But seeing the guys behind Inside attached to it gave me kind of a relieve. After they left and Laugier was attached, i still had some kind of hope for the project. Although i had my problems with Martyrs, i still think he could have been a person to "get" what Hellraiser /The Hellbound Heart is all about. Kudos to him, if he left cause he could not get his vision through to (or better: past) the Weinsteins. But right now i just hope the project dies. What I want is to see the Nightbreed DirCut see the light of day. So folks: Go the the official Barker site and send an email to show those dumb exec fucks that there is an audience for that movie. i know i'm being repetitive but F the Weinsteins. Angelus, i'm with you that i now hope the project dies but i (like many) can just feel the W's reaching down in to the music vid director pool or the "i'll-do-whatever-you-say-Weinstein" pool. i, too, didn't LOVE MARTYRS but i respect it. Laugier could've made an AWESOME HELLRAISER!!

Men Behind the Sunchips is fucking SPOT ON with his Rob Zombie theory. I don't think there will a puzzle box either ...... probably more along the lines of raping a white trash teenager with a Pabst Blue Ribbon can is what unlocks the the Cenobikers ....

From this point on barker should handle all his own projects, if cant then it shouldnt get made and personally Id rather not see a hellraiser remake by anyone. Id rather see something new.

to the person who said hellraiser is already perfect as is, i'd totally beg to differ. i actually think hellraiser is a perfect candidate (if there is such a thing) for resurrection. clive barker is an AMAZING writer, but i don't think they same can be said about his directing talents. i could imagine laugier doing wonders with a re-adaptation of the hellbound heart. if the weinsteins' vision is incompatible with laugier's though, kill the damn thing. after seeing martyrs i can't imagine any better of a candidate to bring hellraiser back.

I liked Martyrs, however, when I watched the supplemental (bonus) material, I found the director to be pretty amateurish. That, accompanied with an ego, will most likely get one into trouble. His saving grace was admitting a lot of problems were his own fault (ie, not story-boarding the movie, first. Duh...)
