B-D reader 'Lucksaw' just tipped us off to the second teaser trailer for Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza's REC 2, the sequel to the crazy scary Spanish horror film that took turns on a young TV reporter and her cameraman who cover the night shift at the local fire station and become 'quarantined' by the authorities. The group of people spend the duration of the film trying to escape, while infected resident continue to attack them. Along with Antichrist, this has to be the single most anticipated horror film of 2009. REC finally arrives on DVD July 14th from Sony Home Entertainment. The film was already remade here in the States by Screen Gems under the title Quarantine.
I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the first REC yet, but since I liked Quarantine, I'm sure I'll love REC. And this one looks awesome and fucked up as well!
Wow, that looks awesome. I loved [REC] and thought it was a shame that Quarantine was such a bad version of it... I really hope the sequel lives up to the first one!
That was awesome. That had me on the edge of my seat. Spain and France are making THE BEST new horror films. PERIOD. Hollywood just sits around and waits to see what they come up with so they can make an American version. How original.
Yeah, it's sad but true. Hollywood is dead. Thank god for my fellow horror fans online or I would have to have waited a year for Rec to get released in the US. My money is on Rec 2 smashing Quarentine 2 (at least at this point they are both original movies)
this does look good. from what i could actually see. this looks even MORE shaky cam than REC was. i'm really over the shaky cam thing. is this supposed to be the same bld. as the original's? i'd like to see the story fold OUTSIDE of the bld. instead of the same retread.
This preview absolutely floored me...of course, since it looks absolutely amazing, the American remake will steer away in a different direction....probably PG-13 with vampires that don't suck blood and can sit in the sun romanticizing.
But for REC 2, I'm definitely pumped.
Vepar, that's MUSIC TO MY EARS! LOL (j/k!). i LOVE the 28's so i'd be fine with it heading in that direction, but i DO see your point. maybe i just don't like the fact the it looks like the EXACT same bld as the one in REC. are ALL bld's the EXACT same set up in Spain(?). LOL. i do have to say i LOVE the fact it looks (at least in this clip/trailer) like you're playing a video game and they've upped the attacks/gore (from the looks of it) but the ULTRA-shaky cam effect is SO not what i like anymore.
I was told that REC 2 "jumps the shark", so be warned. Also, Quarantine 2 will NOT be based on REC 2.
