After debuting on the MTV Movie Awards this evening, Summit Entertainment has given MySpace the exclusive hop on the trailer (featuring one helluva crappy looking wolf) for New Moon, the second film in their Twilight Saga arriving in theaters November 20. Directed by Chris Weitz, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love Edward (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and she finds her loyalties tested.
that looks absolutely amazing, and i'm glad to see that they're sticking to the book. new moon was my favorite one by far. the series really isn't that bad, it seems like people just don't give it a chance.
In the first half of the trailer they followed the book, but in the second half of it seems like they didn't follow it at all. Unless the trailer was cut that way to make it seem different.
i agree w/ edrew7. it was going good UNTIL the DOG transformation. i had a feeling the werewolf part of this was going to be bad. WEREWOLF transformations/movies are SO hard to make look good. there are ONLY (IMO) a handful that have EVER worked well. i'll still see this though!
I hope that didn't show the entire transformation cause it looked like your average pet dog? However I like the way this director used warmer colors to contrast the first, out with cold vamps in with the hot blooded wolves.
So they breAK the rules of vampire mythology in the first film by having them float around at daytime and they break the rules of werewolf myhtology by having werewolves transform at day and how they please! They seem to forget that being a werewolf is a curse not a fashion and usually the best films represent them as tortured souls that hate their body. This series is rubbish, I hate it!
I think why everyone thins the werewolf transformation looks like a joke is because if anyone has seen An American Werewolf in London or Ginger Snaps then the know exactly how werewolf transformation should look on film. I would never waste my money on this crap. Twilight fans I'm not knocking you but try Let The Right One In and you will understand how a REAL vampire film is done.
Well...they bastardized the vampire genre in the first one, so why not fuck the werewolf genre in the ass too?
Damn you Stephenie Meyer! I place a gypsy curse on you that you be dragged to hell!!
