MGM and United Artists have announced a trio of high def Blu-ray releases for September 15th. All arriving on September 15, Tom Holland's classic boy vs evil doll flick Child's Play, which was scripted by Don Mancini; the terrifying and uncomfortable Stephen king adaptation Misery; and lastly, the entire Hannibal Lecter Anthology, which comprises of Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon and Hannibal Rising. Watch this spot for a specs update when it arrives.
It will be nice to see Child's Play on Blu. Everyone I know still just has the 4x3 DVD. Even though they finally releassed in 16x9 this past year, everyone I know wanted to wait for an inevitable HD version, so glad it's coming!
That Hannibal Lecter Anthology would be perfect if it also included Manhunter. Other than that, I would definitely consider getting it and Child's Play. I have never worked up the nerve to watch Misery (although I can easily watch Cannibal Holocaust.) I might need to get the Blu-ray and finally stop being a pussy.
Actually, I've read that the Lecter set only includes Manhunter, Silence, and Hannibal. To get the set as mentioned would be kinda hard, as the four films are owned by three companies (MGM owns Silence and Hannibal, Universal has Red Dragon, and the Weinsteins own Rising.)
