actually excited for this. I think Eli Roth has gotten better with each film he's made and could end up showing us something great if he continues growing.

Eli Roth is as overrated as they come.

I was never a huge fan of the Hostel movies and I didn't like Cabin Fever at all. However I still see tons of potential in Eli Roth and I hope he does a badass monster movie. Not enough of those these days.

I hated Cabin Fever when it came out, but have grown to slightly like it. I liked Hostel a lot, and I loved Hostel part II. I think Roth may be one of the few bright spots in American horror today. Even if you don't like his stuff, at least he's someone who's out there making original horror films and not bowing to studio pressure to make them teen-friendly. He's someone who clearly knows the genre, and gives it it's proper respect. I'd like to see what giving him a budget will yield creatively; and I can't wait for Thanksgiving.

i'm not a huge fan of Eli's (i don't hate him or anything like that and i don't own ANY of his movies on DVD) but i definitely agree that he has gotten consistently better with each film. even though i'm not into the HOSTEL movies, part 2 was filmed beautifully!

Cabin Fever 2 is done, but the studio hates it, they don't like what Ti West did with it. He fought a little bit for it but ultimately has washed his hands of the project. It now lays in the hands of what ever studio fronted the money for it, I can't remember what one it was, but I wouldn't be surprised if we never saw it, and I know we won't see the intended version.

I enjoyed Cabin Fever... and his Thanksgiving trailer was outstanding. If he can expand that into a feature film while still maintaining the Grindhouse feel... then it will be fantastic.

I agree he was way overated, but as a horror fan, he gets my support, heres hoping he makes a classic!

I thought Cabin Fever was a pretty damn good movie... Hostel was a pretty good entry, but Hostel Part 2 was even better, in my opinion. I agree that each film does get better.

Machette and Thanksgiving would make an AMAZING sequel to Grindhouse.

Eli Roth you can make whatever you want with 60mil but ur true fans want THANKSGIVING! So make the hopefully awesome monster film so we can get to thanksgiving already! And as for his previous films...Cabin Fever ruled! Hostel was amazing and hostel 2 was...ummmm ya...NEXT!

I´m definitely glad he won´t direct CELL by Stephen King. It would´ve been too serious stuff for an ungrown jerk like Roth. THANKSGIVING is the right material for him, he should stay with movies like that. I just can´t wait for this...

Well I just hope its better than his hostel movies, cabin fever wasnt to bad though. CF won him a place in fans hearts who grew up on older horror movies and hostel got him fame during the hostel/saw period of horror but really he is just mediocre. And that shit of a 60mil budget movie goes against what horror/scifi should be is big effects and cg shit which is what he wants, bleh his other 3 movies might be just ok but atleast they didnt feel fake by t many effects.

Wonderful: other people that think Roth is a hack. He's a self-absorbed douche with sub-par movies which are directed at and liked by horrorettes.

Thank you Krug09....I couldnt agree more. I never even watched Hostel 2 after that first pile of garbage. I can't understand how ANYONE, including some of the pawn scum on this page, could remotely think "this guy has talent, he's a great writer and director." Roth is as bad as they get, he is destroying horror, cabin fever was terrible. This isn't "hating" either, its the damn truth. Some people like anything. Maybe him and Uwe Boll should write and direct a film together, it could be called "Talentless" .... Roth thinks sex and gore makes a horror film, and he is wrong. Suspense anyone?

oh and I am the egg man.........if you think Roth "clearly knows the genre" then I have news for you, you DON'T know the genre then. Go watch a film called Evil Dead, or the original Halloween, those directors KNOW the genre. Anyone that tries to gross people out and piss them off by putting gratuitous violence and over the top gore on screen with no point....is not someone who knows horror, he does what's called POINTLESS horror....he's trying to disgust people, not entertain or scare them, therefore he is a hack and fraud. He has admitted MANY times, that his objective to make films "as sick and disgusting as possible" how the hell is that HORROR? Maybe he should make some GORE genre films, but what he does is CLEARLY not horror.
