New Footage From 'H2' Featured in New Clip

Dimension Films gave YouTube a brand new behind-the-scenes video from H2, which features not only a stack of new interviews with Rob Zombie and crew, but also your look at some unseen footage from the sequel arriving in theaters August 28. What do you guys think of the footage? Michael Myers appears to be insanely violent in the sequel, we can only hope it's more interesting than him banging on a ceiling for five minutes.

It's that time of year again, and Michael Myers has returned home to sleepy Haddonfield, Illinois to take care of some unfinished family business. Unleashing a trail of terror that only horror master Rob Zombie can, Myers will stop at nothing to bring closure to the secrets of his twisted past. But the town’s got an unlikely new hero, if they can only stay alive long enough to stop the unstoppable.

YES..YES..YES!!! The location kinda reminds me of Halloween 5 with Jamie Lloyd running thru the barn and forrest. Still cool though!

I have said it before: I loved the preview for the first one too. Then I saw the movie...This is the most, and best imo, that we have seen so far and I'm officially interested.

Plus, there's nothing like Zombie's version of history...nope, never seen Laurie chased through a hospital or Michael stalking someone in a field after chasing them from a Halloween bash. Pure genius!

It does look really good. I felt that way about the first one (RZ), but was a little dissapointed. But after watching it now a few times on DVD, I have grown to like it more and more. It's not Carpenter and that's ok with me. RZ has taken an iconic character and made it his own. Say what you want, but atleast RZ has brought Michael back from the dead. Tyler's performance is easily the best since the original.

"Unleashing a trail of terror that only horror master Rob Zombie can" I just threw up in my mouth reading that

The problem with Zombies preference for "messed up" characters is that it meant I didn't care or remotely like anybody in his first Halloween film. I didn't feel scared or sad for anyone who got killed in it, because either we didn't get a chance to know them at all, or they were miserable, disgusting assholes.

Definition of Rob Zombie ....... 1) Always looks like he needs to bathe 2) Is like one of your best friends who ALWAYS has to bring his bitch-wife with when you hang out together...anything less would be unacceptable. 3) Should stick to music...and not that Educated Horses crap.

every halloween movie has the annoying teenage friends of the main character that piss the audience off...it's all for the build up of the audience wanting them to die so that when they do get slashed it's a "FUCK YEAH!" moment

I think this will be more like Devils rejects than Halloween but I still cant get past Ghost Mom and half the mask missing.

Biohazard

Looks good! And the girls in the original were VERY unlikable, as were their boyfriends, Michael's sister and his dumb-ass parents that just stand there looking at him so Carpenter could slowly pull back the camera...that was sooo lame! Loomis, the nurse and the asshole neighbors who won't help Laurie were a drag, too...not to mention the apparantly brain-dead cops that didn't notice the creepy guy in the mask who was stalking the school and three girls...in the DAYLIGHT!! The stolen car wasn't noticed...the tombstone thief wasn't noticed...the Police-Dad didn't know what pot smells like and the Mental Institution Security Officers apparantly didn't have radios or guns. The only smart one was the German Sheperd and he got killed for his efforts...shall I go on?

Well said Biohazard. I have always pointed out those flaws in Carpenter's movie on these blogs too. I love the movie, however I laugh at the scene when Loomis is staking out the Myer's home all night then suddenly notices the stolen car within a few yards that had been parked there forever. I am amazed that some bloggers act as if this will be their first horror movie. They all have annoying kids that are only there to be killed. If carpenter released his version today, we would say it stinks. It's slow. No gore, etc. Because, we have now seen it all. He set the groundwork, but now with every new film, we are seeing re-hashed horror elemnents. That's why Zombie's movie was never going to please eveyone.

I dont think its ever been said that the original "Halloween" was cinematic fuc*ing perfection,it has a sh*tload of flaws & was made with less money than Zombie spends for wardrobe on his ol' lady-the footage looks pretty cool by the way, regardless, the stupid ghost mom sh*t shoulda never made its way into the script, its not "new" its not "different" by a damn sight-some original idea was sh*tcanned in favor of the dudes wife and a million more 70's songs......

It looks like Sheri Moon will ruin this movie. It's unfortunate because it looks like it might be a-right otherwise. Also to comment on Bio. There are flaws in every movie bud...but time has proven JC's Halloween to be a CLASSIC horror film which launched the series that were talking about right now. A little respect should be paid. I agree with P.W. Times have changed and it most likely would not be received as well now...but the point is it came out 30 years ago, and when it did it was fresh and scared the shit out of people!

Pissing and JPJD, I agree with you both. It must be said that I did not think Zombie's version was great, but it was good. Especially when compared to any of the crappy sequels. I did not want to see anymore rapper turned actors and Thorn stuff. Zombie putting his wife in the sequel is silly and reaks of nepotism, but I am not going to trash it I see it. If it stinks, I'll be right back on this blog saying just that. I also agree with the "thirty years ago" stuff. You are making my point for me. Carpenter invented the genre of the slaher film. His canvas was clean. He couldn't mess up. Everything that has followed has made it to the point where we've now seen it all. That is why I am okay with the re-boot/re-imagining, however no matter what Zombie does, we are still going to complain because, he will do something we've seen like the person in the mirror behind the victim trick in the trailer. I would love to see carpenter make a new slasher film of his own creation. It's fair to say, we'd bitch at him too.

That should have read...I am not going to trash it until I see it.

This new footage is baddass! The way he grabs and kills his victims is brutal. I seriously can't wait to see this, especially Sheri Moon.

This just looks awful. Rob has to use his wife, so we have this stupid "kill for mommy" homage to Friday the 13th. The half mask, no mask business is a no go for me. Once you take off the mask, it's not halloween, it's just like taking the glove, sweater and hat from Freddy. I'll admit they dropped the ball after H20, but I don't recall asking for Zombie and whomever to do this instead. That's the thing too, if a remake was wanted, I can understand it being done, and after that horrendous movie with Busta something had to be done, but I'm not pleased with the direction they did end up going in. Although not exactly my bag, the last film was...tolerable. Although filled with the usual Zombie cliches, it could have been much worse.Although I just have a trailer to go by, there's enough information in the clips and trailers to realize this film pretty much rapes John Carpenters original vision. What makes me more sick than all of these pointless remakes, is when a director thinks he is better than the original director, or thinks he is clever enough that his vision, whatever it may be, is greater than the iconic franchise he is recreating.

I will always be a defender of "RZ's Halo". In comparison to the shitanous seguels except for the original Halo 2 in 1981, RZ's Halloween breathed new life into the franchise. As a matter of fact I have nothing but high hopes for "H2",especially after seeing this new footage; because I actually enjoyed the beginning, middle and all other scenes from the remake that RZ created from scratch. Do I think it was perfection? -NO! But RZ did a pretty damn good job rebuilding the series. RZ proved he had balls as a fairly new director/writer to even touch the classic "Halloween" we hold so close to our hearts; and actually inprove upon it in my opinion.( Which is all I care about) Now that H2 is completely his film to play with w/o rules & regulations I feel confident enough to say I expect it to be a movie "worthy" of me making a trip to the cinema, waiting on line, spending a 20 bill, sacrificing an hour or two, & still have a smile on my face feeling justified that my time, labor & money were all well spent!!!

And I would say that this movie clearly has as much to do with the original Halloween, and Michael Meyers, because that is NOT Michael Meyers, than Halloween 3 Season of the Witch. I hope this movie does just as well, so they will finally realize, if you do a Halloween film, Michael Meyers needs his mask, period end of story.
