Apparently in the mid nineties he was attached to a horror project called Nemesis, with a script by Richard Stanley and Sam Raimi on to direct. Wonder if that's the 'directionless' horror he was talking about? Unfortunately, much as I love the guy, his choices since the excellent JCVD have been piss poor. The Expendables could have thrust him back into theatres, instead he's chosen to make Universal Soldier 3. I was almost interested until I found out that it's being directed by the guy who made most of the straight to DVD shit Van Damme has wasted his talent on in the last few years. Reeks of one step forward, two steps back if you ask me.
