The complete TV series "Werewolf" is finally coming to DVD thanks to Shout! Factory! on September 1st. This afternoon we got our hands on the DVD cover art for the release, first announced over at TV Shows on DVD. Special effects for transitions into a 7-foot-tall werewolf were done in this series by none other than Rick Baker, who was the man behind the ground-breaking transformations in An American Werewolf in London and was consulted for the makeup effects seen in The Howling. In the series, young Eric has been bitten by a werewolf. However, he's not particularly thrilled by this turn of affairs and wishes to escape his curse. To do so, he must find and kill the founder of his particular werewolf clan.
SO AWESOME! As a kid, I use to watch this on the usa network. It always came on "saturday nightmares" and it would creep me out so bad I would have nightmares. I loved it.
This show was fun, very much inspired by the series formula of The Incredible Hulk. Now we need Manimal and Misfits of Science and my favorite shows as a kid can be relived!
It's about time...I used to watch this on fox when I was a kid and loved it...been trying to find it for the last couple years, and what do you know, here it is. Guess somebody finally took notice of the petition.
All I gotta say... is WHAT TOOK SO FREAKIN LONG.... JEEZUS.... You know how long I've been waiting for this series to come on DVD???? TOO DAMN LONG. They should've put this out when they started doing TV DVD sets. Long overdue for such a memorable and beautifully crafted werewolf. The changing FX was the best for it's time and for television.. This is how they are supposed to look. Underworld MUST have studied from this.
Oh and Rick Baker... One of the industry's best in FX? FUNK YEAH!!! A legend in his own right. Right? Riiiight!
