LAFF: First Stills From 'ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction'

The Los Angeles Film Festival is upon us (June 18-28) and appearing this year are three horror films of note. Playing in the "Dark Wave" section are the highly anticipated Embodiment of Evil (starring Brazil's Coffin Joe), and I Sell the Dead, which just got picked up for distribution by IFC. Playing in their "Guilty Pleasures" section is Kevin Hamedani's ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction, which we've just scored two exclusive images for. Life in a conservative small town is complicated enough for a young Iranian-American woman and a not-completely-out gay couple, but now they also have to deal with zombie hordes in this splatter-filled comedy.

Well, here is to hoping it actually works as a movie and not just a waste of money like it sounds like.

I don't hate horror comedies. I do hate conservative political views always equaling hate and bigotry in films--zombie films never get old; constantly portraying the conservative small-town folk as ignorant villains does.

I agree, Wonko. I lived in an extremely tiny "conservative" town in Oklahoma most of life and my neighbors were a lesbian couple and one of them had two children. No one in that town ever treated them wrongly in any way, shape, or form. You're more likely to find bigotry and hatred in the more liberal places.

Zombies are my favorite genre. So I'll check it out. Most horror movies have intentional and unintentional humor anyway.

Haven't seen many good horror comedies since shaun of the dead. I hope this is at least as funny and has some extreme bloody moments.

"You're more likely to find bigotry and hatred in the more liberal places. " That's some of the dumbest shit I've read today...but don't worry, this is the internet, you'll be outdone before the day is over. Wonko, if you have an issue with the political representations in the zombie genre...make a movie that goes against that grain. Or just don't buy/watch those films...

Omgzzorz- Telling people to 'make a movie' because you dont agree with they're opinions does NOT prove your argument. Most of the people on here are movie fans, not directors. This does not mean we are banned from having an opinion because we've never made a movie?? Thats the dumbest shit Ive read today. Your argument is immature, unintelligent and verges on bullying. BTW How many movies have you made?
