Thanks to the OE Group, we've now learned that Bruce Willlis is set to topline Grimm, a project that was once set to be directed by Russell Mulcahy (Resident Evil: Extinction, Razorback, Highlander, Highlander II), but his fate is unknown at the moment. In addition to the casting of Bruce Willis, beyond the break you'll find the Cannes sales art, along with a long synopsis for the film Bloody-Disgusting first reported on last year.
Marburg, Massachusetts, USA - Teenager Katie O'Sullivan goes to a new babysitting job. Instead of a regular family, she encounters ghostly twins Henry and Grace and a terrifying apparition that drags her off towards a sinister tower. She is never seen again.
Soon afterwards, Pat Quinn and his family move to the seemingly idyllic town, where he is the new Police Chief. His second wife Ella has two daughters from her first marriage and Quinn has a daughter, Megan, and son, John, from his. On their very first evening John encounters the strange twins, as well as a huge frog, which he brings back to the house. Quinn makes him take it back to the pond where he found it, but that night a wet, naked young man forces his way into the house and Megan's bedroom. He vanishes before Quinn sees him, leaving behind a slimy trail. From this moment on, Megan and John notice strange things and people in the town, but when they talk about them, nobody believes them. Only Professor Kurland, who approaches Quinn to show him pictures of Katie and two other teenagers who went missing at the same time, thinks they're telling the truth. He warns Quinn that bad things happen to youngsters in this town.
One day, Megan and her best friend Ruth go to visit Ruth's grandmother. A wolf-like creature attacks them, having already savaged the grandmother. Ruth is torn limb from limb and Megan barely escapes with her life. As mysterious and frightening happenings occur one after the other, Quinn starts to believe there may be sinister forces at work in Marburg, but will he discover who or what is behind it all in time to save his family?
Is it just me but Russel Mulcahy is kind of being discriminated if he gets fired. He had a comeback with Resident Evil 3 and then done straight to dvd Scorpion King 2. Now attached to Grimm, expected to be a small film but then Bruce Willis climbs aboard and it's a big film, Russel Mulcahy may have to leave? He shown in Resident Evil 3, Hell Highlander that he has a strong visual style. I hope he stays.
I hope Russel isn't on board with this, visual director or not, he still a shit story teller. RE3 sucked complete balls and Highlander was teh suck. and Scorpion King has Randy Couture as the star............. THATS A JOKE RIGHT THERE!!!! his ONLY decent movie was that ripoff of Se7en, forget what its called though
Bruce Willis is a terrible actor. If he is in it, it'll be mediocre at best. Don't get me wrong, I love the 'Die Hard' films (except for 2) and 'Pulp Fiction', but Bruce's acting is same shit in every film he's in. I actually go out of my way to avoid most of his films because he is so bad.
don't agree at all. die hard 4 was great, he was funny as hell in What Just Happened?, Ocean's 12, & Blind Date, was pretty good in The Story of Us, even that fuckin disney movie The Kid. He can do everything, he probably just prefers to do bad ass action flicks and the occasional thriller to keep his game up. And why blame him? he does it well
It definately has an M. Night kind of story. I'll wait to see the trailer. Could be alright. With Bruce Willis attached, they are going to put some real money into making it.
