In an oddly similar theme to I Know What You Did, Universal Pictures has optioned the Dark Horse comic The Secret for a live-action adaptation, reports IESB. Scott Milam, who is writing Bedlam for RKO Pictures, has been hired to pen the screenplay. Milam is penning the Mother's Day remake for Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II-IV) to direct. Here's the plot crunch: "Tonight is Tommy Morris's big chance: he's been invited to party with the social elite of Franklin High and maybe even hook up with the girl of his dreams. But when a prank call turns sour, Tommy gets much more than he bargained for."
I like the sound of this better than that I saw what you did shit. Cut from the same cloth but hopefully cooler. Just don't Twilight the stuff, man! Keep it edgy like the graphic novel. With the right director, could be cool.
Unlike some of the high profile remakes out there, Mothers Day is old and obcure enough to deserve a remake.
