Well here's a rare moment. Five Saw films later and finally we're getting a little behind-the-scenes goodies from the director! Saw VI helmer Kevin Greutert has updated his official blog with a bunch of goodies, ranging from behind-the-scenes photos to casting. He reveals that Shauna MacDonald, Devon Bostick, Marty Moreau, Karen Cliche, Shawn Mathieson, Melanie Scrofano, James Gilbert, Shawn Ahmed, Janelle Hutchison, Gerry Mendicino, Caroline Cave and Ginger Busch have ALL joined the cast (good-freakin'-lord) and prepared to take on Jigsaw's latest game come October 23rd. Check out some behind-the-scenes photos inside. Special thanks to B-D reader 'JayKah' for the tip.

Written once again by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, Costas Mandylor, Mark Rolston, Betsy Russell, Peter Outerbridge, Tobin Bell, Tanedra Howard, Shawnee Smith and James Van Patten also star.

Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw's legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw's grand scheme is finally understood.

Shawn Mathieson looks a lot like a young version of Donnie Whalberg. :P

I really, really, REALLY hope that this is the last SAW film!!! I have been a follower of the Saw films since the beginning, like most of you I'm sure, and I've enjoyed all of them....well okay 5 had it's moments and I hated the way 4 ended, but still. And I think the problem with 5 was that most of it was just focused on trying to explain how the hell Hoffman fits into this whole story of twist and turns and they didn't pull it off as well as they could have in my opinion. With Amanda, they did a really good job explaining it. She was a lost soul who, after surviving his trap, wanted guidance on how to better her life so she went to Jigsaw and tried....but eventually failed. Easy to follow. Hoffman....ehh...okay. Now the traps and story with Hoffman and Strahm trying to be one step ahead of each other I thought was well written....acted is to be debated but I mean it's a horror film for crying out loud, like it's ever going to be nominated for an Oscar. But I am actually impressed that Saw has been able to maintain such a good plot and didn't start slipping, in my opinion, till the 5 film. I mean, Freddy slipped at about the 3 or 4 film, Halloween about the 3, then picked back up in the 4, then died in the 6, then re-picked back up in the 7, then failed in the 8, the reborn in the remake....okay that confussed me and I think I made my point lol. All in all, I'm excited about this film and I can't wait to find out how it all ends...if it ends that is lol.

Why so much people suddenly? They are all playing decent roles or just 5 secs cameos, just to name it?

Sorry SAW. You had me at hello, but my opinion is this series was played out long ago. SAW #1 was clever and creative. #2 and 3 were decent. Then like every great beginning (see Halloween, Friday, Elm Street) it becomes ridiculous with plots and endings that leave you laughing and the villian ( Jigsaw, like Michael and Jason and Freddy) becomes a joke with not a scare to be found. SAW #6 ? I'll pass.

It was established almost immediately that there were only going to be six films, so don't worry about Saw X. All of them have been good with the exception of V, which I honestly believe is nothing but a setup into VI, which if it is, completely justifies it's existence. I'll be looking forward to this big time.

I just have a gut feeling this is going to be awesome. I think they have secretly payed Elwes to return and are keeping it more secret than the location of the holy grail so when people see it and thd Dr. returns they will be like... WOW!

I'm wondering why Saw haters take the time to look up Saw 6, and click on headlines just so they can comment on how much they hate it. I think you secretly love it.

Like I have said many times, and will more than likely say again, if you have a problem with one of the members on this site, and you feel that trash talking is the only reasonable way to solve this matter, then please send private messages to each other so the rest of us don't have to hear your mindless dribble. And I mean honestly, if you don't like the film to begin with, why did you click on the headline? And I am really sick of seeing people tell other people that their opinions are stupid because they happen to think a certain way or like a certain thing. We're all different and we all like different things and if you don't like what somebody else likes, that's cool. I don't need to hear you say how you think that they are fucking idiot or whatever other colorful expression you can come up with. If you're going to act like a 13 year old middle school girl, with all the bitching and whinning, then please get off this site cause the rest of us, more than likely, don't want to hear your shit.

I agree with DeAtHmAgicK 1990. Seriously I don't care if you diss the movie but don't diss each other on the blogs here. So anyway back on topic I think Kevin Greutert is going to be a great addition to the SAW saga. I know he edited the first five films and now he's really stepping up in a way that I don't believe David Hackl ever did. Keep something in mind, after SAW 4 came out Hackl was supposed to direct 5 and 6 but shortly after 5 wrapped it was announced that Greutert would be taking the reigns from Hackl. Producer unhappiness I might ask? Anyway I know many people were pissed about 5 and while I found redeemable qualities about it I truly believe SAW 6 will restore the faith all you guys once had in the series. Shawnee Smith returns, Hoffman will finally get whatever the hell is in store for him, and we'll finally know what was in the god damn box. October 23rd can't come soon enough.
