Update: Check out the trailer beyond the break! Video ETA reports that Sony Home Entertainment will be releasing Messengers II: The Scarecrow on DVD July 21, although this has yet to be confirmed. We'll drop Sony a line and see if we can't get an answer. Directed by Martin Barnewitz this prequel goes back to the farm from the first film to finally learn the story of John Rollins – the simple North Dakota farmer, struggling to save his farm and hold his family together. When he places a mysterious scarecrow in his field his luck changes for the better… but it may be at the cost of his sanity.

Um.... this doesn't have anything to do with the first one's story. It's like haunted in two different ways now, that's really gay. There's ghosts in the first one cuz John Corbett's characters murdered his family, and now there's a scarecrow that comes to life? I can already tell this is gonna' blow ass
