I would agree. sounds alot like 28 Days plot. Even though The Crazies was first, it's hard not to compare it to the contemporary films. I'll see it. It does look interesting.

George Romero's The Crazies is the biggest influence for Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later romero's original is very underrated, but fucking great, let's see what happens with the remake!

I couldn't care for the remake, but just like they did with My Bloody Valentine, the local "art" theatre is going to show the original as a midnight screening. Although I must say, 3D MBV was pretty damn entertaining.

i just imdb 'ed old breck eisner, and his three current projects are crazies, a new flash gordon movie, and the creature from the black lagoon update/remake/whatever. This guy sounds like a total tool. You may know him as the guy who directed Sahara (sound of nobody applauding). Seriously, fuck this movie.

I'm skeptical. Only time will tell. The Crazies is my favorite Romero film, so I hope hope hope they do it justice.
