SLAUGHTER: Celebrity
Slaughter is the feature film debut of writer and director Dan Martin and takes horror back to its nasty, gritty and often tongue in cheek rootsd of the 1970's and 80's. The film follows escaped mental patient David Ward as he hides in his derelict caravan spending his days hiding from the police and doctors and filming himself raping and murdering while police slowly discover his crimes and get closer to him.
End of the Line as the pick of the week?! It came out here last year (Canada). It is terrible. The premise is good, and I was excited to pick it up...then i watched it. Terrible acting, very cheap looking, annoying characters, and not even any gore to make me forget the bad acting and cheapness. Could have been great in the hands of a competent team with a budget (which they admit they had none in the special features). Sometimes lowbudget works for a movie. Not here. Avoid at all costs.
I really dug End of the Line. Totally unexpected, good story. Acting and Effects are pretty rough (no argument there) but yea....they had like 0 Dollars!
I also enjoyed End of the Line...you could tell they didn't have a lot of money to make it, sure. Regardless, the plot was excellent. I wasn't expecting much and was taken by surprise. A decent low budget film.
Don't you get frustrated when a great idea is wasted on a lacklustre movie, because now its been done, and likely won't be redone with a bigger budget for fear of "ripping off" (unless its purchased and actually remade). That's how I felt about End of line. And Hancock...great idea, terrible terrible execution. End of the line could have been so much more. Oh well.
Mum and dad is an awesome movie, a really good english horror, to say its low buget it sureley is amazing.
