We learned exclusively this evening that James (Jimmy) Van Patten will be returning as Dr. Heffner (Saw IV) in Lionsgate's now-filming Saw VI. He joins the confirmed returning members Tobin Bell, Tanedra Howard and Shawnee Smith in Jigsaw's latest puzzle arriving in theaters October 23rd. The dynamic horror duo of Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton penned the screenplay once again and long time editor Kevin Greutert will be taking the reigns as director.

I've enjoyed all the Saw films, although I think the series started to lose steam after 3. I know all the flashbacks and prequel/interquel-esque stuff was necessary to keep Jigsaw in the picture, but it did get a bit annoying. Still, ain't gonna knock this one till I see it, and I'm definitely gonna see it.

Perhaps Hoffman will have a tape inside of him as well?

Cool so I'm assuming the autopsy happens right after the conclusion of SAW V. Hoffman gets out of the box goes to the morgue and hears the tape. Then all hell breaks loose. This is going to be good.

the film will end with the line, "the game has just began" haha, love the saw series!!

Can't believe this franchise has taken the crown for the most lucrative horror movie franchise of all time. Saw is cool and all but can't help but feel raw about it.

These movies have stumbled over themselves time and time again, plot-wise. I rent them for $.99 to have a good laugh.

FUCK THE SAW SERIES! ASIDE FROM SAW I THE MOVIES ARE TERRIBLE!

SAW III is clearly the best in the series...And now Shawnee's back, apparently playing a big role in the outcome of this movie, it's gonna be amazing! It hasn't been the same since she was killed off...

After Saw 1....the series sucked balls

Saw and Saw 3 were the best of the franchise. Saw 2 never felt like a Saw movie anyway and parts 4 and 5 were just retreads of the previous three. I suspect Saw 6 will be the same moron screenwriters from the previous two sequels rehashing the same damn thing James Wan and Leigh Whannell already did years earlier, albeit with different characters.

I have to agree, the first SAW was good and had a great plot twist at the end. Like most franchises, they get worse with each one. The plug needed to be pulled after #3. The plots for the SAW series now are ridiculuos.

Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton suck as writters... Seriously, they are morons. Plot holes like a motherfucker. NO more saw films!

Lets back track one more time in Saw 6... Because back-tracking two or 3 times to make a film already isn't enough, lets do it again!... Stupid. Okay we get it, Fuck...

finally just watched saw V and gotta say the series has lost it's direction. I think now it's more of an excuse to come up with kooky ways of 86ing people rather than setting up a solid plot.
