Director Patrick Tatopoulos, Underworld co-creator Kevin Grevioux and Death Ray Films are teaming up to bring the comic book I, Frankenstein to the big screen. "I, Frankenstein" is an upcoming Darkstorm Comic written by Grevioux that brings together classic monster characters, including Frankenstein's Monster, the Invisible Man, Dracula and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, in a contemporary film noir setting. The Monster, for example, has evolved, learned how to control his anger and now acts as a private investigator. Dracula, meanwhile, is a kingpin of crime, and the Invisible Man is a secret operative. Grevioux will pen the adaptation and act as a producer. Tatopoulos, a longtime creature designer for such films as I Am Legend and Godzilla who made his directorial debut with Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, will helm. Robert Sanchez and Chris Patton will produce via Death Ray.

We'll see I guess. And I loved the Watchmen.

And the title should be "I, Monster".

Exactly. Every horror fan, film and literary expert knows that Frankenstein is the creator of the monster. Yeah, 'I, Monster' is a more appropriate title. But the concept does sound really good, and the image of the monster on the comic book cover is really cool. I Just hope it turns out better than the awful 'Van Helsing'. I love 'Watchmen' by the way!

I'll take a new version of Mary Shelly's classic before I buy this shit!@! I don't need or want Frankenstein's monster to be evolved and intelligent, and a private investigator??? WTF !! I don't care what comic it comes from, leave it there !!! DUMB IDEA for a movie featuring multiple horror icons.

Then again, you could argue that instead of being called ''monster'' all the time, the ''monster'' (who is a smart person or being, after all, and fairly sensitive) decided to take a page from humanity's book and name himself frankenstien after his father and creator. It's not that offensive a concept, or too much of a stretch that he would use that name.

Also, Jonny Horror, you should know the ''monster'' was a rather intelligent man/being/creature, whichever you prefer.

I could see that maybe. It just seems like an easy thing to be terrible, but it might be cool to. Either way, I'm paying attention to it.

This project sounds fucking sweet. It could easily get fucked up though. I hope they make it real film noir not that hack new school noir style also a hard R would be sic. Im gonna jump and put my dream cast together for this. INVISABLE MAN: Kevin Spacey or Bill Nighy. HUNCHBACK: Harry Conick jr. or Sam Rockwell DRACULA: Michael Sheen or Gary Oldman MONSTER: Michael Shannon or Mickey Rourke or maybe Michael Madsen. Now I know Michael Sheen has been a Lycan and now going to be a vampire in the horrible Twilight sequel. However he is a great actor and I think could pull off dracula as a monster/mob boss well. The rest of the casting I dont know I think any of those actors would be sic in those parts. The only other person I would put in as the invisable man would be Jason Isaacs from event horizon. I dont know those are my pics I wanna see bloody's casting now.
