According to UK DVD/Blu-ray retailer Play.com, Warner Home Video will be releasing New Line Cinema's Friday the 13th reboot on DVD and Blu-ray July 27, 2009, could it be arriving here in the States on the same day? In addition, beyond the break you can check out some "early" artwork for both releases. No special features have been revealed thus far. From Platinum Dunes and director Marcus Nispel ("The Texas Chainsaw Massacre") comes a re-imagining of the classic horror film "Friday the 13th." Searching for his missing sister, Clay heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake, where he stumbles on the creaky remains of rotting old cabins that lie in wait behind moss-covered trees. And that's not the only thing hiding under the brush. Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay pursues what few leads he has, with the help of a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up for an all-thrills weekend. But they are about to find much more than they bargained for. Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying spectres in American film history-the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.
the artwork is supercool. But I wonder there is no mention if this is the R-rated or the Unrated cut. But July 27th is still a loooong way. I was expecting it rather n June.
i HATE this cover art. awful. i really liked the movie, but i hope we get (here in the states) get a better cover. ironically region 2 DVD often get really good DVD covers over region 1 covers. so hopefully region 1 of this movie will be BETTER. god help us if it's WORSE than this.
I really don't like the cover art at all :( They should stick with either the teaser poster with just the mask in the shadows or the one they had up at the theatres.
The Artwork is pretty cool, but I don´t think it´s the final one. I´m from germany and I already had some orders at play.com. They are not that exactly with their listings... Just wait a little...
Idk, I really don't like the artwork. I really can't wait for this movie though. I had read in an interview that the cut on the Blu-ray and dvd will be alot different and will have more footage. Hope its good!
