These new deluxe editions look awesome! I especially like everything for Part 4. I'm glad we are finally seeing those cut scenes (some of which have great character development), but why can't they just release the workprint? It's not so hard. I mean, the workprint has a few scenes that this new deluxe edition will probably leave out, because they're five to six seconds long. One for example is when Tina is looking out the window and sees her sisters bike still parked. In the regular cut version, we just see her staring out the window and don't know why she looks so confused. I hope they include that scene, because it made all the difference (plus it made the scene all the more creepier).

Can it showtime. The remake was just as good as the other movies of the franchise. even better than some of them.

I LOVED THE REMAKE... ITS MY FAV OTHER THAN PART 3, WHICH IS THE BEST

I might actually get these... along with the 'better than the original movies' Friday 2009 when it becomes available. Yep! The remake was the shot in the arm the franchise deserved... Only good things come out of remaking the horror icons, anyone that still bitches about the effects of remakes is clearly just looking for something to WHINE about, they have nonething to back up they're claims... only MORE whining :)

I disagree, Jason2009. The remake was terrible. An unfunny spoof, an insult to the series, and a failure on it's own terms. It's NOT as good as the other movies of the franchise, it's WORSE. Not as bad as Jason X and Jason Takes Manhattan, but it comes pretty damn close. The first four are easily the best in the series (Parts 1, 2, and 4 anyway). It's simple horror at it's best.

This Is Pretty Cool, 7 & 8 Get This "Deluxe Edition" Treatment As Well & I Hope 7 Has The Gore Put Back Into It OMG That Would Be Amazing<3

I see they still havent fixed the crack from the ax. Even with the new covers it's on the wrong side. On the whole remake v originals, the remake wins. Even if you'd rather consider it to be a sequel, it's still better that most/all.

anchorbayrules that is the burning question about if part 7 will have the footage put back in lionsgate/paramount took the time to do it for my bloody valentine why not in my opinion friday part 7 is must in having the gore footage put back in hell iam going to settle for the same picture quality as on the box set special features just edit it back in the film

It's cool that they are comming out with new "deluxe editions" but seriously they can't get the axe cut on the right side? and worst of all why do each other hockey masks on the covers look like the part 5 hock with red tri's?

When do we get the 2009 Friday???

9:36pm, April 14, 2009

Why are they including those "Lost Tales From Camp Blood" segments again? I mean, it doesn't even make sense, because the third version wasn't included on the SD DVD release. So, now the DVDs jump from "Lost Tales...2" to "Lost Tales...4"? But these features are really great - too bad that the first 3 so-called "deluxe edition" DVDs were not anything too special. Here's hoping for an uncut Part 7...please, please, please!!!

Ugh. Paramount is the ultimate case of DVD blue balls with these ones. Just release them UNCUT. You'll sell more, and make the fans happy. What more could you want?

Showtime 1976, stick it up your ass! the new jason 2009 remake was awesome and a hell of alot better than some of the old ones which was shit. i didnt like the original anyways because his dumbass mom did the killings! friday the 13th is about jason and jason killing and this 2009 version was awesome and just like some of the old ones. so take your negative shit somewhere else! if you cant say something good about something then STFU!! someone on another thread about FD4 saying out of all of them 3 sucked. 3 was awesome and had some of the best deaths ever like the nail gun through Erins head.

A friend came by recently while I was watching Part II (my fav). She'd never seen it before, WTF!!! When Jason came bursting through the window at the end, she flipped the fuck out!!! I LMFAO!!! It was great to see that this film still works after all these years. You'll be happy to know that this event inspired her to track down the dvd. Part II is now one of her favs. Just thought I'd share that with my fellow horror freaks out there!!!

Good point nohandtyper. That little flaw on the cover of part IV always bugged me. Now, on the new cover, the ax cut is STILL wrong, & the put the wrong markings on the mask. Fucking shit!!! There's no justice in a jack ass universe!!!

it's a shame that whoever they hired to do the artwork obviously has never seen any of these movies, because the mask on all the covers is the one from part 5, which isn't even jason. it's also a shame that part 5 and 6 aren't uncut. part 4 basically made it through with the least cuts of the series and i'm happy with the gore in it, but 5 and 6 went under the knife hardcore and this is upsetting. Don't expect 7 or 8 to be uncut either, paramount could care less about us fans.
