B-D reader 'Matt M. tipped us off to a post over at DVD Talk that most of you will find very interesting. Warner Home Video is starting a new "buy 5, get 1 free" Blu-ray program for 2009, included in the participating titles list is Michael Dougherty's hotly anticipated Trick 'r Treat! It looks like we'll finally be getting this long delayed title this year! The film features four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; and a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.
I remember that there was a preview for this before 300... that was what? 2007? they were stupid not to release this when they paid for advertising it... more money than brains I say...
oct 27th 2009 is the rumored blu-ray/dvd release date but i'll believe it when i see something official now all we need is dvd release dates
for poughkeepsie tapes which is coming sometime in 2009 as well as cabin fever 2 which i hear their finishing the music for the film!
I agree with Bro_mole; those fuckers at WB couldn't find their assholes with both hands. They could write a book on how to fuck up a great movie release.
fceurich; you are right about Poughkeepsie Tapes but we also need Paranormal Activity too. The positive reviews are off the charts and its rumored that it could be the scariest film ever made. Dreamworks owns that one now and they have screwed it up so bad they actually make Warner Brothers look competent at how they've handled TRT.
coldblood i was thinking about Paranormal Activity whilst reading this as well, so many good things said about it and still no film to see - fucking stupid.

I had forgotten about Poughkeepsie Tapes. After several movies that looked good kept getting pushed back, I got frustrated and mostly have stopped looking at upcoming movies lists.
All The Buys Love Mandy Lane, [REC], and Trick 'r Treat all possibly coming out this year? Someone, please, slap me back to reality! Oh, wait. This is reality. AWESOME!
campbloodhound32; If you have a region free dvd player, you can go to Amazon UK right now and get (REC) and All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. You can also get The Children, Dead Set, and 10 Rillington Place. You can also grab the nuclear holocaust/horror flick Threads. I haven't seen Mandy Lane yet - but the rest of these flicks are definitely worth it. Hope this helps.
After much mental brain beating on the release of this film I personally think that the "dropping of the ball' on this film is a ploy and a way to not only justify but to guarantee high dollars when released. However they do it Theater or DVD. WB are not as stupid as you'd like to think. They know an amazing cult classic when they see one. The longer they hold off releasing it, the higher the expectations! Think about it.
