Who would have thought a dust old film could revive a career? Liam Neeson (Taken) is on a role has he'll now be starring as a warring god alongside Ralph Fiennes (Spider, Red Dragon, Sunshine) in Warner Bros. and Legendary's Clash of the Titans, the Greek-god epic directed by Louis Leterrier. Neeson is playing Zeus, the wise yet sometimes ill-tempered king of the gods and father of Perseus (Sam Worthington). F
Fiennes will play Hades, ruler of the underworld who aims to overtake Zeus and rule over all.
The two actors join Mads Mikkelsen, Gemma Arterton and Alexa Davalos in the production, which begins shooting later this month in the U.K.
The storyline will still revolve around Perseus' journey to save the Princess Andromeda, during which he must complete various tasks set out by Zeus, including capturing Pegasus and slaying Medusa.
It's film news. It doesn't matter what the commentators would consider it.
Anyways, this is fantastic news. Personally, I think Liam would be a fantastic Zeus. I can't wait to see the chemistry between the two of them on screen.
Liam and Ralph are excellant accomplished actors. That is great news that they were able to get these guys involved. I have also stated that certain movies that are topic here are just not horror. But I am a little partial to CLASH even though it is Sci Fi/Fantasy adventure. I loved it as a kid and think they can really do alot with this with todays technology.
Awesome! Things guys are outstanding actors. They even somewhat look alike. I can't wait! Bring on the Greek Monsters! Medusa always freaked me when I was a kid.
I love those guys but darn it, this one is gonna be hard for me to love. I feel like the charm of this film was in Harryhausen's effects. His amazing stop motion work is one of the reasons I got involved in film. I don't think that the CG they will probably be using will do it justice. Now if they used stop motion again.... then I'm all about it. And before you say that's a dated technology go see Nightmare Before Christmas or the Corpse Bride....
Nothing against the "stop motion" style, but I could see them using the CGI like in "Jurassic" to give the creatures an even more real look, feel and fluid motion.
Ooh!!!! Clash of the Titans was a good movie, I hope they pick a hot actor to play Perseus like the original movie's actor. The original 'Clash of the Titans' made hottie Harry Hamlin a star.
Oh man I cant wait to see more on this. The original Clash was a fantastic film. I can definetly see this film being filled with tons of CG. I mean the whole Kraken, Medusa tons of good demons/demi gods. Should be interesting with the people there casting.
