Earlier this week Bloody-Disgusting own Jeff Otto joined press in Georgia for a trip to the set of Breck Eisner's The Crazies, Overture Films' remake of the classic George A. Romero film from 1973. While on set Jeff had the chance to talk to star Radha Mitchell, who revealed some new info on the long delayed Silent Hill 2, the sequel to Christophe Gans' video game adaptation from 2006.

Silent HillDuring a visit to the set of Breck Eisner’s THE CRAZIES in rural Georgia earlier this week, Bloody-Disgusting had the chance to speak with star Radha Mitchell, who plays the wife to Timothy Olyphant’s Sheriff character in CRAZIES. The actress was in a particularly giddy mood during the chat, casually giggling with press as she chewed on the straw from her drink cup.

When asked about any plans for a SILENT HILL sequel, the actress told press, “I don’t know what’s going on with that. I think they’re kicking it around.

Christophe Gans, who directed the first film adaptation of the popular video game series, probably won’t return for the sequel. “I don’t think Christophe is attached,” said Mitchell. “[That] is a shame because he’s a nutter but he’s so passionate about the game. I think he should do it if they do it again."

If a SILENT HILL sequel does happen, Mitchell hopes to make a cameo, possibly as one of the HILL ghouls. “I’m sure they will [do a sequel] but I’m not sure what incarnation it will be. If there is I want to come back as a monster or like some crazy creature.

In the first film starring Mitchell, unable to accept the doctor's diagnosis that her daughter should be permanently institutionalized for psychiatric care, Rose (Radha Mitchell) flees with her child, heading for the abandoned town in search of answers -- and ignoring the protests of her husband (Sean Bean). It's soon clear this place is unlike anywhere she's ever been.

Since I'm not familiar with the game, I don't know how a sequel would turn out, but I loved the original so hopes are high for the next one!

I used to play Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2 late at night when my parents thought I had gone to sleep, with all the lights out. I was in the 6th grade and those games freaked me the hell out. Memories <3 I LOVE anything and everything Silent Hill. I want them to make it (the sequel) darker, gloomier, and creepier and it will make me wet. o_o

Agreed. The games are amazing, and the film was very enjoyable. I hope they do make a sequel in some form, it would be cool if it was animated.

I loved the movie up until the end. The end just didn't seem to fit, but it still didn't ruin the moody eerie atmospere. I would definitely be excited for a sequel.

Rhada is AMAZINGLY (as goooore says) gorgeous AND she's an excellent actress. any movie she's in (SILENT HILL, ROGUE, etc) is lucky to have her in it. i LOVE how she can seamlessly do a horror movie and then go do a critically acclaimed drama/comedy "MELINDA & MELINDA" and then come back and do another horror movie! so cool. and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make another SILENT HILL movie. i LOVE 1st one!

The first "Silent Hill Movie" was Awesome and is alot better than the 3 "Resident Evil" Films. Its ridiculous how 3 crappy RE movies have been made and Only one "Silent Hill" film.

If they do Silent Hill 2 THEY HAVE TO FOLLOW THE PLOT OF THE SECOND GAME! Silent Hill 2 was officially one of the creepiest and scariest games ever made. Why not get Devon Sawa in to play James Sunderland... looking for his dead wife... In the town of silent hill... I HAVE HIGH HOPES!

Okay, I got absolutely nothing from that. In the film business things are ALWAYS being "kicked around." That was Mitchell's way of saying "I have no idea what's going on but I've heard things." Of course she has. The first movie was amazing and captured the atmosphere of the games perfectly and if Gans doesn't do it then I pray that a non-American director does it because a Silent Hill movie given to an American director would turn out like something like The Unborn.

I just want to see more of the gorey monsters from the games... And of course, More Pyramid head... That's all I'm hoping for.

if Gans isnt attached, I dunno if Ill see it... I dont think it can GET darker and creepier than the original. And I dont think whoever is trying to do this will achieve their goal. Shame...

Silent Hill was a great film, hopefully they make a sequel. And if Christophe Gans doesn't return they should IMO get Adam Mason. Just check out The Devil's Chair, and you'll know he'd be perfect.

Looks like I'm in the minority here. Silent Hill the movie sucked ass - the plot made NO sense and the acting was atrocious. We don't need a sequel.

Love the games and love the movie. Hope they can make a sequel just as kick ass as the first.

I am a shameless Silent Hill fanboy and I absolutely loved the movie. It wasn't perfect but it is the only videogame movie I have seen where it felt like the people behind it had truly played and loved the game. There were a ton of easter eggs for the fans and the movie did a pretty good job at capturing the feel of the game. Plus the scene where Pyramid Head ripped off the girl's skin is one of the coolest things I have ever seen in any movie ever. If Gans doesn't do it, I hope they get a director who shares his passion for the game.

I don't want anyone else to make the sequel. Christophe knows and LOVES the games, that's why the first was so visually stunning and amazing. CHRISTOPHE GANS PLEASE COME BACK! I need a sequel.

I think the first was a mediocre movie at best, and pretty poor in comparison to the better games in the series (notably '2'). I think if they make a second one it should run close to the games be darker, more claustrophobic, etc... I think the most enjoyable aspect of the first one was the commentary on the insanity that is organized religion, which was one-upped big time by the psycho-bitch in 'The Mist'.

I really liked SH after I saw it a 2nd and 3rd time it grew on me alot. I hope they make another one because the cool thing about silent hill is the stories dont have to be connected, silent hill is like this thing in the game and each games characters have their own experinces in it and face their own demons. I really think the story from part 2 would fit and considering its very depressing and interesting story it would be a perfect fit.
