The Weinsteins haven't exactly had hits lately but at least they would have had a solid investment. Damn you Weinsteins, damn you!!!!!!

im sick and tired of even hearing about angelina jolie or seeing her face and i use to be a big fan but this having to have as much babys as possible has turn me away from her so that sucks some that shes in it. all you ever hear about is her and brad adopting another kid. brad looks old now. lol i wonder why. theres other women out there that cant even have kids and they get to sit back and watch angelina grab them all. im sick of it! sorry about that. I could really care less that the Weinstien Company doesn't have it. As long as the film is shot with the same style and is as enjoyable as the first one, I have no issues with it. Who really gives a damn about the company? I'd only be worried if it were being handled by a company like Taurus or Troma. Please note: I don't dislike Troma, but this isn't the film for them.

Err, not sure why everyone is acting like this movie isn't being made - it clearly states above that it is going ahead but with different financial backers. I am happy the Weinsteins have lost the rights to it, it's their fault the film has been delayed so long as they were trying to force Rodriguez to tone down the violence and change storylines. They really are a couple of douchebags, the can't leave any project alone without interferring!

Good riddance. Now a studio that's willing to treat the movie right will get the chance to produce it. The Weinsteins have been dragging their feet on this for way too long. By the way, any details on how they lost the rights?

That's right! when you snooze you lose. I'm not surprised with them dragging their feet like this. I worked for a large entertainment company (I won't mention the name) years ago. They had a habit of draging their feet...and guess what they lost the rights to many fantastic films...some even won oscars and other awards. This is not to say that Sin City 2 is going to win tons of award but you get the picture.
