Time Warner Drops Horror Channel FEARnet

We received the following letter from the chaps over at FEARnet, who tells us of a disturbance in the horror force. "To all FEARnet fans who subscribe to Time Warner or Bright House Cable -- Time Warner and Bright House have dropped FEARnet from your cable line-up. They have eliminated your on-demand access to horror, thriller and suspense movies 24/7. If you want to once again see FEARnet on your cable system, your cable operator needs to hear from you. Call 1-877-FEAR-247, we'll connect you with your cable operator and you can let them know you want FEARnet (And be aware that for some customers, FEARnet is available on AT&T U-Verse and Verizon Fios)." I want my horror!

chiller needs to go uncut and unedited and play more movies, then we have our selfs a winner.

I would almost bet that this has to do with the On Demand being free. It seems these days that if a cable company cant make money off of a channel then they dont want anything to do with it.

Chiller also needs to go HD, yeah big HD fan here.

FearNet sucked anyways. They almost never had a decent movie, mainly all bottom of the barrel crap. I've actually been seeing more decent horror on Sci-Fi channel in the past year oddly enough than FearNet. One word, Splinter. Kills anything that FearNet had to offer that I hadn't already seen.

Yeah, I'd love to see Chiller have a larger presence on the West Coast. I'm envious of all the East Coasters and Southern horror fans who are telling me about the cool programming. Even with edits and commercials, it still beats FearNet.

How the hell is there not a channel (basic cable) that is not all horror/suspense ? We got cooking, lifetime, Sci Fi, Sports, Religion,Shopping,Nature,Tru Tv, A&E, etc, but a network does not think there would be enough support and viewers to have a 24 hr horror channel? I'm on the west coast as well and there is NOTHING. Complete utter Bullshit!!! Somebody out there with the cash, let's do BD TV on basic cable. Make it happen , petition, I don't know, just pissed that we get nothing. Our genre has a HUGE audience that would support it. Who has the balls to make it happen ?

When Chiller first hit it was on Direct TV and Dish only, which was fine until I switched to Time Warner. But I guess Time Warner picked it up at the start of this year, unannounced to me, it took some channel surfing to find out. Anyways, I think Chiller is heading in the right direction, being backed by universal nbc, i dont think money will ever be a problem, and since its on dish and digital only, I have to think uncensored material is only in the near future.

I was a fan of Monsters HD (bronx-Cablevision)which recently just apparently went out of business. We need something more than Chiller & Sci-Fi!

Yeah, I'm glad Comcast still has it. Sometimes there's something decent on there, like Night Of the Creeps.

Fearnet was lame anyways. Chiller would be alright, but they need more famous horror movies, not movies people have never heard of. MonstersHd needs to stop showing those lame movies, too. Chiller is the best though.

I have/had both Chiller (as a station) and FEARnet as "On Demand". I never used FEARnet...OK...Maybe once when the Repo trailer was on their.

I use to have chiller, but now I have cable (it was cheaper) and now I don't have anything. I wished suddenlink had a horror channel of their own, but NO That would be too cool for them.

This is the dumbest movement I've ever seen. It's so stupid that I just couldn't hold back from commenting. FEARnet, undoubtedly the most mixed up and convoluted cable programming that I've ever seen, is now crying out for help from their fans with..."Demand that Time Warner and Brighthouse pick us back up and demand your right to great horror!", to get them back on the air. Unfortunately, Fearnet doesn't have many fans. Because they suck. Their programming sucks. They don’t have anything that exciting and new. Fearnet’s philosophy seems simple. It has to be "hot". Well, me not being from Hollywood or from the Hilton estate, I personally don't care about what's "hot". I care about seeing great horror instead. And I don't mean stuff that I already have in my DVD collection at home, or the Fearnet original programs that they tell me are great, but that actually put me to sleep. Fearnet needs to wake up and smell what they're shoveling. I'm a true horror fan and I've tried for 3 years to get behind Fearnet. But they don't want my support. They want celebrities and famous and that's it. No regular people. Not even fans. I’m so sick of corporations telling me what horror movies I’m supposed to like. Why don’t they just ask us for a bail out too! They condescendingly pander to us diehard fans all year long, and then when they get dropped from Time Warner, they start crying that it's our duty as a fan to demand they get picked up again. To that I say...I already have lousy friends. I call them enemies. And all they do is take, take, take. They never give, ever. So Fearnet, you're barking up the wrong tree for my vote. You don't get it. And I don't care if you go under. Your guy Scott Wheinberg does nothing but whine and brag all over the internet, and your president Diane Rabino just talks about how great she and Fearnet are. Why don’t you both shut up and get out of the way? You're just wasting valuable space. You're not doing anything important. So no one's going to miss you. I say, "Hey Fearnet! Don't let the door hit you on the Fearnet on the way out."

I AM TRULY UPSET ABOUT THE FACT THAT TIME WARNER HAS REMOVED FEARNET FROM CABLE CHANNEL. I THINK IT IS DISCUSTING BECAUSE I FEETTHAT THEIR REASON FOR DOING IS BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE WATCHING IT SO NOW THEY WANT PEOPLE TO HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, AS IF THEY ARE NOT MAKING ENOUGH MONEY ALREADY. TIME WARNER RETURN FEARNET TO THE CABLE TV, FREE OF CHARGE. YOU PEOPLE MAKE ENOUGH MONEY. GIVE US A BREAK!!!!!!!!!
