While most movies are in production, everything in shrouded in secrecy. But sometimes you get a special gent like Mr. Rob Zombie who pulls out all stops to bring you something fresh and new every day. Today he launched Uncle Seymore Coffins' official Myspace page that's not only loaded with images, but also carries a commercial for "Uncle Seymore Coffins' Creature Double-Feature", a TV show being used in his sequel to Halloween arriving in theaters August 28th. I'll take a little fun with my bloody murder any day.

It looks like the Wolfman mated with Freddie Mercury and created Seymore Coffins.

I miss shows like this. When I was a little kid in the 70's, we used to have a local show in Seattle every Friday night, year round called "Nightmare Theater" that had a wacked out Count Dracula saying cheesy one liners before introducing the movie of the night which was usually a classic Universal horror film. He would come back in from commercial breaks and keep the cheese rollin, but that for me was awesome when you were a kid at an early age that loved horror movies/monsters like I did.

This is why I like Rob Zombies work. You can't question his work ethic. I'd much rather have Zombie directing Halloween, bringing his unique vision to the series with his own personal touch. With him being involved in music, art and films you get a feeling that creatively his films are multi-layered and he considers all avenues creatively to output his ideas. The film will be safe in Zombies hands. Anybody bitching about it needs to ask themselves who would they prefer to direct it. Truth is, there is not many talented horror directors who would want to be involved in the series. Zombie compared to a direct-by-numbers MTV video director....I choose Zombie.

Jonny Horror, Profondo, I would have to agree. I remember when I was a kid, There used to be a SATURDAY NIGHTMARES that came on every saturday and played movies like DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW, WEREWOLF (the series), & NIGHT OF THE CREEPS. And who could ever forget MONSTERVITION with Joe Bob. Yeah, those were the good ol days. And I also agree with Rob's talent, he has a way with bringing back that classic horror movie feel.

Chiller Theater for me, loved it. Like how much Zombie is throwing into this flick, all the tiny details. He is a man of vision, he knows what kind of movie he wants to make and throws himself in. Yes I know the regulars will say "his vision is shit"...personal tastes, but you can't deny his dedication. Some folk were thinking that Seymore was Rob himself, but after seeing this, I don't think so.

Zombie might be a lot of things but you have to give the guy credit for wanting to do things his way and for trying to do things that are a bit different. As Profondo-rosso pointed out , I'd rather have RZ over some music video director using horror as his platform into features.

Crow454 you are the man. Chiller theater was the best growing up. Every Saturday night I'd watch and made sure to watch the beginning where the hand would come up from the ground and writhe around. Then it would toss the letters spelling out CHILLER!. That was cool. Jonnyhorror is right too. They don't make em' like that anymore. Channel 11 WPIX New York Saturday nights, Baby.

I hate movies set in times other than my own. Take Westerns. There were these guys like Ford or Peckinpah who made these strange flicks in which people rode horses! It looked so weird. These cowboys always dressed funny and talked even funnier. Aw, shucks. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. That gets on my nerves. These flicks frequently had farmers & rednecks in them and they would listen to weird redneck music. There were even hillbillies around. I hate that. I always thought they should use cool hip-hop tunes on their soundtracks. These stupid directors always used the same actors over and over, which drives me crazy. They were always expressing weird personal ideas in their films, which I hate. RZ reminds me of these has-beens. Why can't he make good movies like Michael Bay?

Horror-Guy, that isn't Bill. He had to leave the shoot because of a conflict in his schedule. This actor who replaced him has as yet been unidentified. He looks pretty good though.

It's the Jeff guy who was the GEICO caveman. He plays a deputy and Uncle Seymour Coffins in this film. Somebody on IMDB has photos comparying the two and they match.
