I'm glad that something is coming out. I'm still pissed about how Warner Bros. held onto the rights of "Queen of the Damned" until the year before they were going to lose the rights, then they made that 101 min MTV music video they called a movie. I tried to keep an open mind and I remember distinctly telling others to calm down until the movie was released. Then, after seeing the film, I had to give Jorge Saralegui a piece of my mind, expressing how the film lacked structure - even if it wasn't going to stay true to the novel, at least have a damn structure. So, this same situation could happen with "HACK/SLASH" - bring on "EVE" because it's not being made under the same duress as flicks being made a year prior to a loss of rights (just for the sake of having the movie under the company's name). I'm also still waiting for American McGee's "Alice" and Eli Roth's theatrical version of Stephen King's "Cell." If cheap ass versions come out, that'll at least appease me partially. There was so much directorial interruption with "The Invasion" - I like the film but it's not as hot as it's predecessors. I know the whole world will disagree with me, but Nicole Kidman is what made the movie good for me (along with the sick infection twist). That movie had quite an interruption in its production, but things worked out. A cheesy flick called "Invasion of the Pod People" surfaced on video at the same time - despite the unnecessary lesbian subplot, the flick actually freaked me out... the pod people don't need you to be asleep, they just show up and choke your ass to death. So, I'm sure I'll find something to love about both of these flicks.
