Update: Has the New Nancy Been Cast in the 'Nightmare' Reboot? NO...

Rumors are circulating that Amanda Crew is being strongly considered to play the role of Nancy in the redux of A Nightmare on Elm Street, we've confirmed that this news is 100% UNTRUE, so consider this rumor debunked and kicked in the can. Crew can be seen this weekend in Lionsgate's The Haunting in Connecticut, alongside New Line Cinema's Final Destination 3. The original films' premise centered on Krueger, a serial child killer murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams.

Sorry, guess again!

I'm not sure acting-wise if she can carry a whole film herself...

they always look like that.shell eventually have a tank top on itll be bloody and shell surive at the end.im not sexist but cmon enuff of the chic bein the one who survives!it should be whoever survives guy or girl not the girl survivng cause shes a girl and to have a strong female role.no im tired of it.stop casting dawson creek, one tree hill plain lookin kids to play the roles in horror movies.oh and dont they always look non ugly or attractive.and enuff with the dam love storys thrown into every movie.as far as this new nightmare goes to me it will be horrible.my opinion michael bay will see to it lol

Yeah I agree with Chancedude. I dont think she could be the STAR of the movie. And they need to get like a natural pretty looking girl. Like I mean this girls is really hot, but I think thats what we want to stay away from. We need someone that you would be friends with but never consider saying they are HOT. Just pretty. I think you guys know what I mean.

I say Kristen Stewart ( Twilight ) for Nancy and Lindsy Lohan for Tina FTW !!!!!!!!!! Seriously though Lindsy Lohan would make a good tina ..... I

haha, i'd accept lindsay lohan for tina...if i knew she was going to have a sweet, sick death scene. i think Nina Dobrev, from the degrassi series, would make a great nancy. she can definitely act, and is nice looking too

I think Crew would have made a good Nancy - instead we'll probably get another Scout Taylor Compton, ugh.

I just hope who ever plays ANY roles that they don't screw this movie up and make it a pile of shit!!!

Not a good choice for Nancy

HORRORFAN4LIFE, i totally agree w/ you! Nancy should be an "everygirl" type. pretty but NOT a model type pretty. i'd be happy with a GINNY (from FRIDAY the 13th part 2) type (but younger i guess), pretty and the kind you know in your actual life but still approachable and someone you can root for. NOT NOT NOT a uber-model who you WANT to get killed! LOL.

WalkingDeadGuy

She's alright but I don't see her as the leading lady. She needs to be more innocent and able to hold her own against freddy. Who do you guys think would make a good nancy?

natalie portman. lol. i know i know. 2nd choice- justin timberlake.

1 month to go and we didn't get any news about the cast, freddy included!

Yawn. While hot, I'd rather have someone more established than this for the reboot of such a major franchise. Texas Chainsaw scored Jessica Biel. I want someone whose name I actually know in this role. Hallway Girl #1 in John Tucker Must Die just isn't cutting it for me.

Can any body explain to me (IN BABY STEPS) how to change you'r AVATAR??? I have a pic I would like to use but I can't get it to work. I have also try to use one called horizon that is already on their and it does not even work. I don't have it turned off, do you have to have a full bar or something???

MCBD016

KISSman, Amanda Crew has been in way more than just "Hallway Girl #1" in John Tucker Must Die. She's been in the horror industry since Final Destination 3 way back in 2006, as well as The Haunting in Connecticut which came out yesterday. She was also the lead female character in Sex Drive last fall. Just because TCM had Jessica Biel doesn't mean every reboot has to have well-known names. Friday the 13th didn't, either, so what gives?

this film is reported to start filming in less than a month, i think they either have their cast and are not talking or they have nothing

Screamer

I don't want her to play Nancy.

I'd LOVE to see Amanda Crew is Nancy!!!

magnaderalpha

She's too pretty in the CW-style to be Nancy, but given that PD is helming this project, I wouldn't doubt that whom ever they DO get to play Nancy, she's also going to be pretty CW-standard.

KISSman

To your point, MCBD016, Friday the 13th series has never had a vested interest in the non-Jason characters in their films. Nancy was important enough to be in THREE prior Nightmare movies. It's an important character to the series and, IMO, deserves to be a little more of household of a name. Personally, I'd be perfectly fine with Lindsay Lohan.
