Zombie Asks, (WWMD) What Would Michael Do?

Another update on Rob Zombie's MySpace writes, "Haddonfield police are very disturbed by a new t-shirt that's been popping up around town. This man Chett "the bringer of death" Johns was arrested outside a Dr. Loomis book signing. Apparently Chett was caught spray painting MICHAEL LIVES across a local Starbucks." You can check out the shirt inside and then see if Michael really returns in Halloween 2 on August 28th.

interesting. Zombie seems to be paying attention to the littlest detail for this movie (which can't be a bad thing). i'm really excited about this movie!

why we should wait until August 28? Just put together all the images that come out daily and that's it we got the movie.

Flick looks more interesting all the time. Cool of Mr. Zombie to keeps his fans informed like this. Have never seen a filmmaker do this sort of thing during the filmmaking process, at least to this ongoing extent. Appreciated.

Must...have...that....shirt!! I hated the first film, but Rob is obviously in touch with his fan base and I think he's going to improve upon his first attempt...This one is sounding so kick ass!!

Nothing surprises me at this point. Michael Myers is a redneck trailer park trash text book killer product of his environment. Mike walks around in broad daylight with a Bin Laden beard without a mask looking like a hobo. Weird Al Yankovic, Margo Kidder, and WKRP in Cincinatti's Howard Hesseman are in the movie. Rob Zombie doesn't feel like using the classic Halloween theme music at all. Haddonfield still engages in Halloween night parties with a-hole rock bands named Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures dressed up in costumes like the bad kids from Karate Kid after all the previous Halloween night problems. Doctor Loomis is a sleezebag opportunistic book author who cares more about writing books about "serial killer celeb" Mikey Myers than actually catching him. Zombie was the one who said Halloween and Michael Myers got too 'commercial' with toys and bobble heads before his first Halloween. Now he wants to sell t-shirts. Yep...with each piece of news, the film sounds better and better. Hopefully if we're lucky, this will be the last time any studio allows Rob Zombie anywhere near a movie camera.

I love Zombie, but my biggest complaint are the distracting cameos in his movies. we did not need to see the devils rejects cast in Halloween. might be fun for some, but it takes away from the story!

Yet another dumb idea from the guy who destroyed Michael Myers.

I would agree it's hard to not compare what Zombie does to Carpenter's. That will happen when you touch a classic. But I would also say that he's reworked the story enough to where it's really a totally different movie, good or bad depending on your opinion. RZ has made his HALLOWEEN a more darker, violent story that is closer to today's times. I have a feeling he will raise the bar with this sequel. He knows all eyes are on him, and I think he will push this up and try and out do himself. I'm not saying that will make this good, but rather an entertaining watch regardless of the outcome. I'll take RZ's white trash version of the story ANY DAY over any shitty, laughable, non scary sequel that came in the 80' and 90's.

Zombie "destroyed Michael Myers?" How about Halloweens 2 through 8? Those weren't all precious gems, my friend.

Zombie is recycling the crappy WWMD t-shirts from his early 'Halloween' scripts? It was a shit idea a couple of years ago and it's still a shit idea now.

I must have that shirt. It screams badass.

Constant updates on the making of a film funneled to the internet via the director? Unheard of! I've never seen a film documented like this! I'm sure the second release of the "Director's Cut" DVD will have a 12-hour documentary where an entire half-hour is dedicated to how they made these shirts. Counting down the days.

Lame. I'd rather go see the Cobra Skulls and The Hallow tomorrow 3/28 at the Beat Kitchen in Chicago then where that shirt.

*cough* Blair Witch *cough* This is nothing new, and CHUD said it best with this cool little blurb: http://chud.com/articles/articles/18721/1/-IS-ROB-ZOMBIE-GO ING-ARG-WITH-H2/Page1.html

CHUD were the guys who gave this movie the rating of "FUCK YOU out of 10"... awesome. I think Russ nailed it on the head by saying once your killer is mentioned as some kind of pop-culture icon within the film that the mystique is shattered.
