Fred Durst Invades Horror Genre With 'Psycho Killer'

Just the name alone makes me vomit a little in my mouth. Fred Durst. Oh, gross. I might have to go grab myself a bucket as the Limp Bizkit frontman is looking to enter our genre as he's going to direct a film by the name of Psycho Killer (clever title). "I'm going to direct 'Psycho Killer,' written by Andrew Kevin Walker," he said. "He wrote 'Seven,' (which) David Fincher directed. I'm very excited about it. It's not a throwaway slasher genre film. It's a very smart, really compelling story about a serial killer on a mission for Satan. It's really interesting and the way it's written -- it's so unique. Andy is an incredible writer. It looks like we're going to go into preproduction around August." Watch this spot for more details (along with dribbles of puke) as it comes in.

He actually wasn't that bad in Population 436. I'll keep an open mind.

I was just about to say that. I feel the same way - you hear Fred Durst's name, the ultimate douchebag, and think of him putting his bad vibes into horror - no thanks. But he was in Population 436, and holy shit I crapped my pants, he was actually good in it. He didnt suck at all. Go figure. Open mind being kept here as well.

good fucking lord read the fucking article. he's directing the movie, not starring or singing in it. the only place you'll even see his name is in the credits so I don't see why you all are getting so damn antsy.

I bet the killer's reason was... that he did it all because he wasn't getting NO NOOKIE! ;D See what i did there? Yeah, it was pretty sad! :D

I realize that it's not cool in any circle to like Limp Bizkit and/or Fred Durst, but let's take a somewhat mature stance on this. Fred Durst is a fairly decent music video director and he has a good script. This is already shaping up to be better than the Nightmare remake and yet a lot of people who won't give this the time of day will go see that and then bitch about it. Give it a chance.

The involvement of Durst in horror at this level will give the genre a bad name.

Fred Durst, OH No!! Please people, he's a good director (music video wise). So lets give him a chance here. To me, this is what is wrong with the so called "fans" of this genre. As soon as someone that every one hates or despises, decides to enter in to the genre or even (dare I say) make yet another horror film. People start to shit on them before even seeing a trailer for the damn movie. If it ends up being a really shitty movie oh well. Just keep a open mind and give the damn thing a chance before you crucify the damn film.

I'll keep an open mind but I wish he would just go away.

He's still a douche!

If it gets a theatrical release I MIGHT check it out. If it pans out like I think it will and just ends up as a "Blockbuster Exclusive" rental then I'll know to pan it right away.

At least he can't possibly make a worse movie than anything Eli Roth has ever made. That to me is the good news, the bad news is, it's Fred Durst.

also.... who the hell is going to take a movie at all seriously that is called 'psycho killer' that is a B movie title if I've ever heard one, it's just ridiculous.

F to the D Freddy durst. I got some mad chillen in my brother.

Sigh... my feelings about this project went from "Huh?" (Fred Durst) to "Ooh!" (Andrew Kevin Walker) to "Oh, God, WHY?!" (the thought of Durst directing an A. K. Walker script). I just hope he keeps his ego at home (hard to do when you're still nailing hot chicks this far past your 15 minutes) and delivers a decent effort.

On coming soon.net, there is a trailer to a movie FD made called the education of "i can't remember". It has Jesse Eisenberg in it (probably spelled that wrong). I'd like to see it just to see if Fred Durst could actually make a watchable movie. The trailer actually doesn't look bad. I know... I too was shocked when I saw the add. I hate his music, but if he can make movies then kudos.

Hell, if Rob Zombie can do it...

Well, we keep letting Uwe Boll make movies, so why the hell not. And I have a good idea that Psycho Killer is a working title, like it usually is when we hear about these things.

DO NOT COMPARE ZOMBIE WHO HAS DIRECTED MOVIES WITH FRED DURST !! Are you kiddin me ? I just read Limp Bizkit is coming back. We are all doomed !!!!

I am sure that the Talking Heads (most likely David Byrne) are thinking to themselves, "one of our songs is going to be linked to this piece of shit". God help us all!! There is a reason that this douche named Fred Durst hasn't done anything in 9 years. Worst of all, Limp Dick has "officially reunited" for a tour in 2009. Thankfully, it starts out overseas, and hopefully it will stay there. I don't want the U.S. to be polluted with their lame ass music ANYMORE!!

Bukowski Thompson

he def. has a better chance at making half ass movies than making music. That's a bad move. If I was him I would try to redeem myself with film (if that's even possible), and forget about the shite music he makes.

I see this getting 5 Skulls. ....hahahaha though I think I know where he might of gotten the name.

Cool though what I really care about is that Limp Bizkit is back!! Can't wait for the new album and tour.

"It's a very smart, really compelling story about a serial killer on a mission for Satan." That sounds really fucking intelligent.
