Can't wait to see this film! gah, april 28th seems so far away...

I watched this movie in French with no subtitles and I still loved it. The story unfolds at such a great pace that I enjoyed it without even understanding the dialogue. Great movie!

fucking awesome, still doesnt explain how great this flick is. it is so relentlessly violent the acting is superb the story is great..it makes you think. its in the top 5 best movies of all time for me.

This sounds awesome. I'm not sure what to expect, but by reading the comments and hearing about MARTYRS I am really excited to see this. The vibe I'm getting is "don't rent it, fuckin go out and buy it"!!! Is it that good ????

EVERYONE !..seriously.. one of the best..no no, it is THE best. not only is it brutal, and when i say brutal i mean br0000tal, but the story is very meaningful. made me wanna take my pants off while watching it.. it will stick with you forever. YEA JONNY HOR, BUY IT!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT

this film was simply awesome. Easily better than Frontiere(s) and equally as good, if not slightly better, than Inside.

Um no. The 1ST half of the film is awesome. The second half? nil points! and some people complain around here about 'torture porn?!'

You guys call this piece of shit a fucking masterpiece? It´s nothing but gratuitous violence and torture. The movie DOES have an interesting plot at the beginning, but it´s director knows fucking nothing about horror and that´s why he films a girl getting tortured during 30 minutes. In the end, a bad horror film shot by a lousy "film maker". WHAT GARBAGE!!!

I didn't like this movie when I saw it, but thought about it afterward (really thought about it), and I think it's pretty damn special. I've already pre-ordered the DVD. I must say though, I didn't find it nearly as violent as Inside. Or at least not the gratuitous horror violence like Inside's. PS - If you're really in a rush, the movie comes out on DVD in Canada this month. If you're really jonesin' you might as well.

Of course it has a BD quote on the poster. That's how you guys have become so popular. Overpraising any movie to come along to get your name all over the cover/poster.

Martyrs is fucking dire! Two films stuck together with neither being any good, shit direction from Pascal and absolutely no suspense or tension because the plot is clearly signposted every step of the way. When the second half hits and you are subjected to a truly pointless torture theme and then an OTT ending which is unbelievably stupid. Wach if you want to see what all the fuss is about but just don't expect the masterpiece it's being heralded as!

THIS IS NOT the masterpiece everybody claims, it's just another silly excuse of a film to show detailed torture scenes and sorry that's just not entertaining to me, the film had me interested for half of it, then it just caved in with another "35 minutes" of close up torture scenes and the reasoning behind it is straight up laughable. sorry I love horror films and love entertainment, I am sick to death of the same old torture bullshit films, I like having a good time watching scary movies, it's good to laugh and not take it too serious because if your wanting to just shock and annoy people with pointless scenes of torture and gore galore than perhaps you have bigger issues... I fail to see these films as anything but an excuse to watch extreme realistic violence, if this is what you want in films, just go out and watch faces of death, because I kinda like movies to be "movies". this is also the website that gave rave reviews to "the last house in the woods"? which sucked ass.

i agree w/ PROTECIOUS. i have it on DVD (thanx torrent sites) while i don't hate the movie, i don't by any means LOVE it. the "brutal" parts come about 1/2 way through the movie once the TORTURE scenes start. if you aren't in to watching a girl get beaten DAILY, fed her own excrement/urine, then beaten again, fed her own.....etc. etc. someone (i don't want to ruin the whole movie so i won't say who) skinned alive (offscreen) etc. then this movie is not for you. the acting from BOTH leads IS amazing though. this director is going to make an awesome HELLRAISER movie, i will say this.

JAYSAW, said it perfectly. the first half of the film is a sad and TRULY scary drama/revenge film. AMAZING. the 2nd half is TORTURE TORTURE TORTURE.

Fucking great movie! A little un-even but awesome. So refreshing to see a film like this after so much Hollywood bullshit of the past few years. This is horror.

i thought it was OK. I, like djblack have a copy too-I had been anxious for it because of Fango hyping it up. I have always been ADD so subs is really hard for me no matter what movie it is because i find myself reading and thinking at the same time as opposed to being able to watch the action and let my ears do the rest. I won't bash it though, i especially loved the beginning scenes @ the breakfast table.

biggdogg, EXACTLY!! the scene w/ Lucie (and the breakfast table)....AWESOME!! and she is SO effing gorgeous it's not even funny (actually both girls are jawdroppingly beautiful).
