We got word this evening that Miramax's remake of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is scheduled to begin filming this May in Australia. Being produced by Guillermo del Toro from a script he co-wrote with Matthew Robbins, Troy Nixey is on deck to direct. Here's the synopsis being used as of right now: Trapped in a hidden basement, the vicious supernatural occupants of a mysterious Victorian mansion hunger for new victims. Newly arrived at the house, only 8 year old Sally Hurst realizes the nature of the menace. Now, if only the adults around her would... Watch for casting news soon.
lol, that dutch voice-over is beyond cheesy. Not a fan of remakes, but I am a fan of Del Torro.
