We got the exclusive heads up this afternoon that French director Laurent Briet is in final talks to get behind the camera for Rogue Pictures' The Strangers 2, which was penned by creator Bryan Bertino. Briet worked on the visual effects for The Ring and made a short film by the name of Little Minx Exquisite Corpse: Rope a Dope. Word has it that the sequel will take place in a trailer park. We'll hit you guys back when we have official confirmation that the dotted line has been signed. Hold.

first one was SO sucky. nothing happened. the girl hurt herself more than they hurt her, it was sooo lame. Funny Games was a million times more successful in every way.

Trailer Park? wtf? Sounds like Rob Zombie may be the one directing...

IT LOOKS LIKE THEIR MASKS HAVE BEEN PHOTOSHOPPED ON. LMFAO

A trailer park? really? This idea is so bad it should skip direct to dvd and go direct to recycle station so they can make something decent out of it...

Will Liv Tyler return?

French directors are such whores. They make one film in their home country then go off to make remakes to American films or poor sequels. Nice integrity you're showing guys.

I appreciated the first film, it was actual horror instead of over the top kills and teens getting high and doing it. That crap gets old. Why the hell isn't Bryan Bertino directing it??

I think it would be cool if the killers from the first one are the ones being tormented in the sequel..... Follow their lives from the moment they get home.

well said "comfycasket", i agree.

i wasn't really impressed with the first one; but the trailer park idea could be interesting...

Could be good. I'll definately see it. I still don't know why anyone who is a fan of horror/suspense could dislike this movie ? I was totally entertained .

I've read the script and the trailer park setting is good. Bertino isn't directing because he sucks. Thank the editor for saving that film.

The first one was great until about 2/3 of the way through, then it just got repetitive and tedious. Not to mention that the ending just didn't work. If they had stuck closer to the ending in "Them" (Ils), it would've been more effective I think. If the sequel gets a decent team behind it though, I'll still check it out.

The Strangers was a HUGE let down to me. I thought it was going to be a lot better and they could have done so much more with that movie. I really don't have any interest in seeing the second one.

great film, loved it - one of the best in the last year - i would have thought a sequel idea would be the three intruders get stalked by the survivor

List of movies that dont need sequels: 1- The Strangers.

Looking forward to this. Absolutely loved the first one, and looking forward to Bertino's next horror 'Alone'.

Dont think The Strangers really needs a sequel but I liked it so will give this one a go. Don't know how scary the trailer park setting will be , though.

I just learned there was gonna be a Strangers 2 like Tuesday, but it didn't say anything about a trailer park. I never saw a horror flick take place in a trailer park before. Well not that i can remember...I liked the first one...

I loved The Strangers but am not sure about a sequel. I am fine with it being a stand-alone film like Black Christmas. The original, not the crappy remake.
