Attention, Predator fans: he's back in town with a few days to kill, with Fox annoucing an early-June Blu-ray release for the franchise's first sequel. High Def Digest reports that Predator 2 will hit Blu-ray on June 9. This follows Fox's previous Blu-ray releases of the original 'Predator,' as well as the two 'Alien vs. Predator' spin-off films. Tech specs for 'Predator 2' will see a BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video (1.85:1) and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround audio. There's no word yet on supplements. The previous Predator release was far from high def as it appeared to be an unconverted DVD transfer. I wonder if this will be any better (I'm going with no).
'Predator 2' is a decent sequel; very underrated. Much better than Alien 3 & 4 and the AVP movies!
