28 Weeks Later Director Has 'X-Ray Eyes'

Here's some great news to kick start your day. Spanish helmer Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, the director of 28 Weeks Later, is back for more as he's been tapped by MGM to develop a film based on director Roger Corman's 1963 pic X: The Man With the X-Ray Eyes. The original starred Ray Milland as a scientist who is near a breakthrough in X-ray vision technology when his funding is cut off. Desperate to show results, the doc applies eye drops that eventually cause him to lose control over his growing powers.

The most fantastic experiment you have ever taken part in!

Damn, I wanted to direct a remake of X. Oh well. I hope he keeps the weird "seeing through the fabric of the Universe" element.

now this is a great choice for a remake.

Awesome! Now this is a remake I can support. I love the original, but it absolutely needs an update. With a director like Fresnadillo, this has lots of potential.

This... just reeks of awesome. X was one of my favorite Saturday morning creature feature flicks (heh, remember those?), and every single time they got to the end and he pulled out his eyes, it wigged me out. In Chicago, they even had balls enough to use the original line when he did it: "I can still see!!!!" A remake would be so cool...

I saw this movie before! When his eyes were black, I actually cried for him, very well acted. Anything from Roger Corman is awesome and unforgettable! This remake will be a success!

I love this movie...and movie trailers from the 1960's are really, really bad.
