'Let the Right On In' Remake Name and Shoot Date Clarification

Last week Production Weekly had reported that Hammer Films and Overture Films' remake of Let the Right One In was to be renamed as "Let Me In" and was slated to begin shooting this May in Canada. We checked in with Overture who tells us that not only is the script still being worked out, but the film (as of right now) is in fact still named Let the Right One In. No shooting has been slated as the idea of filming a winter film in the summer makes absolutely no sense. More on this soon. Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) is directing the remake that follows Oskar, an overlooked and bullied boy, finds love and revenge through Eli, a beautiful but peculiar girl who turns out to be a vampire.

twistedbitch, it's got an average of 8.2 out of 16,000+ reviews so far on imdb.com and currently in the 193rd position of the highest ranking films ever made so.... yeah, I'm hoping it's amazing.

Let the Right One In is a fantastic film. I saw it on my birthday and was stunned. Very atmospheric and creepy. There were some cultural references that obviously didn't translate well, but it doesn't hurt the film.

let me guess- the american remake will take place in high school and eli will be a cheerleader who sparkles in the daylight. ugh.

STOP COVERING REMAKES FOR FUCK SAKE!!!! Seriously Bloody Disgusting, stop sucking up to the studios and cover some movies that are worth talking about. Every day you're giving coverage to another bloody remake. YOU are the reason there are so many remakes. IF you didn't tell us about them we wouldn't care!!!!

Name it 'Let the Lazy Americans Read Fucking Subtitles so Hollywood Doesn't Ruin Gems from Other Countries, for Christ's Sake'.

this is one film where i will be really pissed if they fuck up the remake. but hey, maybe it will give the original more attention.

I think remakes of remakes like Halloween and Rec need to be made seeing as they fucked it up 2nd time around. 3rd time's a charm? No really, don't fix it if it ain't broke.

One of the VERY rare occasions when I'm actually looking forwad to a remake because despite the general consensus that the original LTROI is amazing - I found it to be a major disappointment that gutted the book and it's central theme to such an extent that there is still a truly great adaptation to be made... and this could be it!

But how likely is it that it will be 'it'?

I KNEW IT!!!! ... OMCE AGAIN THINGS MORE WAY TO SLOW FOR GOOD OLD AMERICA. THIS REMAKE WILL CONTAIN MORE GORE, MORE BOOBS and a quicker pace with about 20 to 30 new kills in it just so the American audience can be amzed. This is exactly what Hollywood execs think .... STOP THE REMAKES ... STOP SEEING REMAKES!!! ... WATCH THE ORIGINAL, ITS AMAZING!

I agree with realsolution#9, the original was ok, but since I read the book first I expected alot more from the movie. There were some pretty big parts of the plot that weren't included in the film. Let's hope they are added in the remake.

I don't think Hollywood will make this film good. They will prob make it PG-13 and fuckin lame. But IDK some remakes are rather good. But I do not think this one will be.

I think it's about time horror fans stopped depending on Hollywood and learnt to read subtitles. There's so many great none-American horrors out there, both in English language and foreign. About time you looked over the fence, guys!

mightygriff and flesheater123... if the film had been more faithful to the book, then believe me this would have gained an '18' certficate in the UK, as it is, it's passed with a '15' and quite rightly so, because it has ditched so much of the gore and downright nastiness found within the novel. TBH, I'm hoping they do add more gore in the US remake, because there is a fantastic scene towards the end with a zombie-fied Hakan that deserves to be seen on screen. It's an excellent scene in the book! Plus, has anyone read Lindqvist's latest novel 'Handling the Undead' yet??

This film is dubbed in english and other languages if you dont want to read it. There is no need to remake every fracking film out there. This was such an outstanding movie. I will definitely buy it.

This is one of the best vampire movies that I have ever seen. It does not compare to Twilight or True Blood. Let the right one in was such a surprise and the movie was so well done. I would like to see a remake. Maybe they will include the same scariness as the original.
