Charles Band to Remake 'Puppetmaster' in 3-D

A small, yet interesting morsel of news came out way this past weekend as we learned that Charles Band is looking to remake his classic horror film, Puppetmaster, which was released back in 1989 by Full Moon Entertainment. All that is known at this time is that he's hoping to shoot it in 3-D. In the original, for no apparent reason, an aged puppetmaster carefully packs away the marionettes of his craft and shoots himself. Those who come to mourn, or defile, his passing little suspect the final performance that's been planned. The Beloved creations left behind have a little life in them and they're not playing for laughs. They may be small, but their appetite for murder is MONSTROUS! Who's pulling the strings?

Good, the original was terrible, I enjoyed Parts II, III, 4 & 5... the first was pretty bad and could use a makeover anyway. just NO CGI PUPPETS ASSHOLES

Awesome. Puppet master deserve something more then the sci-fi channel raping it for one more "i shot this in my basement " sequel. I hope this happens. Puppetmaster and Creep show were the first movies I ever owned. I was 4 or 5.

This has bad news written all over it.

I always had a soft spot for this franchise although I only remember the first three. I loved the puppets in this! Maybe we can finally get these on DVD again!?

I love those movies. This has potential to be both great and terrible

You can get the whole box set on dvd at fullmoondirect.com It's $100, but it is like 7 or 8 movies. Aren't they already making a new one in the series? Puppet Master: Axis of Evil?

I hate remakes but . . Puppet Master in 3D? Hmm . .

Awesome this will be great. I loved this movie when I was a kid, and 3-D that is the best way to do it.

Ah, Mr. Band and his obsession for all things tiny. I remember his last attempt at 3-D. The Creeps. Ugh. But if he just sold the rights to a big studio (never gonna happen), they "might" make it interesting. Band is in the biz for quick cash, not making good movies.

this would be cool!

I loved these movies when I was a kid. I hope this one is good because everyone after part V was unwatchable imo.

Very interesting choice to say the least. I was afraid this would be a remake of that stupid alien movie from the '90's.

Hell yes. This gets my dick hard.

Huge PM fan. But this idea is stupid. Absolutely stupid. WTF would 3-D about the movie? Maybe some fire effects? STUPID

I am seriously looking forward to this. Hey, at least they're laying off the classics. This could be a hit!

Puppet Master is one of the series that got me into horror, and I even shelled out 100 dollars for the boxset. I'm not too sure if I want a remake but...what the hell, I love killer puppets.

Oh for fuck sake! This wasn't even a masterpiece but it is another pointless remake. STOP COVERING THEM!!!!!!

Are you sure that this is true? I know he is going to make another movie called PUPPET MASTER:AXIS OF EVIL, which takes place after PM3, but he never talked about a remake on his website or his vidcasts or anything.Anyways. PUPPET MASTER is one of my favourite series of all time, but I don't know if I am for a remake in 3D. A remake doesnt sound bad, but I don't really see PM made in 3D. It could be good, but I hope he focuses more on making sequels instead of a remake.

I guess that would pretty cool if they did it in 3D. Puppet Master movies were good. Of course, that was back then.

This is rather exciting! I love all of the "Puppet Master" films. I think they're quite amazing. Well, all except the last few. Lol. But this would be really cool. I hope they do a good job with it. I wish a larger company with a bigger budget would make it. Full Moon films used to be awesome back in the day. But now... They're like one step above porn. Lol. "The Gingerdead Man", anyone?

Wow! This is cool news. Like many, I love the PM films. I'm not really apposed to remakes - as long as they are good! I enjoyed the remakes of "Friday the 13th" and "My Bloody Valentine 3D," to name a few, but I hated the wretched remake of "The Fog."

as long as its Charles Band remaking his own film, then i don't have a problem with it, i would tho if it was someone else , i just hope he does not change the appearance of the puppets too much, esp. blade

the first was pretty bad! maybe in 3D could be better, but i want a new f13th movie in 3D!
