I saw the original anime and this looks like it could be really faithful. We'll have to see though. It could suck.

That looks great!

If I recall correctly, the original anime was quite a short film and judging from that commercial, it seems pretty much that they've enhanced the story which was obviously inevitable. Though the film looks like a fun one, it does look like the same old, wire works, CGI kung-fu stuff that we've seen all too much of lately. I just hope it out does other similar movies like the Charlie's Angels crap, and the much better done Heroes.

If this is going to be a full feature film, then it's inevitable that they enhanced the story with some (IMO) useless crap. Also... "half-breed"? Where did they get that from? But I hope that they'll get the chiropterans right. Loved them suckers.

half breed was to cut down on the CG/costumes so that they would not have to use the REAL vampires instead like they should have. Why does the blood look so weird?

i was very disappointed with the short anime hopefully this will be better

I've never been a fan of blending vampire lore into Asian mythology. They just don't mesh well. But this looks like it might be good.

looks like it may be entertaining but not much more.

Jerkofwonder - Asian's actually have their own vampires, the Chinese have the Hoping vampires, and there is a vicious breed of Japanses vampire that eats flesh and blood not just drinking it. As for blending, how about Star Wars kind of blending samurai into a western space opera, and giving them lightbeam katanas? I find nothing wrong wih it, if it can be done well. Blood, was a very short movie and it had some amazing animaion, but it lacked a little in the story department. The actual TV series was not too bad, and the few novels that were out were interesting too. I am always looking for something different with vampires as the proto-typical Anne Rice, White Wolf vampires dominate the screen way too much. I long for films like Near Dark that harken away from this, and Blood looks like it might be a fun epic romp into this kingdom.

Well said EricCord!!!

This actually looks WAAYYY better than the anime, which I personally feel is overrated. Now when there is a live action Ninja Scroll or Vampire Hunter D, I'll be really psyched

I don't give a dam what anyone says. I don't care if you're a "hater" or "true and big fan". I'm going to see this dam movie. I very much enjoyed the anime and plan to try and enjoy this. So :P *tpppppp!!!!**lol*

As someone who watched the original movie and the 5o episode anime...I do not like the china setting and kung-fu at all. It should have a more hard-boiled and horror vibe with the transformations etc.

This looks like it might be a good one. I love vampire films, but as someone else has said, we need something to freshen up the whole vampire genre. I am not one for martial arts films but this seems like it will open a whole new market for the vampire fan.

I'm not entirely certain where the "China setting" is and I don't think the kung fu is really that big of a stretch. It totally makes sense to me that a girl whose primary weapon is a katana and has lived for thousands of years would know some type of martial art in order to fight vampires...that being said, I can;t wait for this. I was hunting down the original the other day, angry with myself for not owning it yet.
