If you click on over to BDTV you can watch the new trailer for the Candian horror flick Pontypool, which follows a small-town radio station that discovers that recent madness in the local population may be caused by a virus transmitted through speech. Stephen McHattie (Watchmen), Lisa Houle, Georgina Reilly, Hrant Alianak and Rick Roberts all star in the film that premiered last summer at the TIFF in Toronto. IFC Films will release Pontypool in theaters and VOD on May 29th.
Considering speech is nothing but sound vibrations, I'm interested in seeing how they explain a virus being transmitted that way. I doubt they'll even bother trying to explain such a dumb idea...
Trailer looks pretty sweet... They dont need to "explain" how sound waves can transmit a virus... I mean, it is a zombie film after all. I am already suspending one disbelief, I can suspend another...
