From the imagination of H.P. Lovecraft (Re-Animator), and the vision of director Ivan Zuccon (Nympha), comes a new tale of cinematic terror. Based on the classic story, The Colour Out of Space. We just posted the teaser trailer for the film over at BDTV, while beyond the break you can check out the official one sheet for the film, along with a long synopsis.
It's 1943 and World War II is raging. Pietro and Lucia live on an isolated farm with Alice, Lucia's younger sister. A strange coloured light appears at the bottom of the farm's well and, from that point on, inexplicable events begin to occur. At first, everything seems to take a turn for the better. Alice miraculously recovers from severe mental problems, Pietro's bad knee is suddenly cured and the farm is producing luscious vegetation.
But things quickly take a turn for the worse. Without any just cause, Lucia attacks Alice at every occasion and Pietro is forced to lock up his wife. The colour soon takes hold of the entire area and dwells inside peoples' minds.
Not since "The Exorcist" has there been a horror film this intense.
I always look forward to seeing an Italian horror flick, but using the Exorcist as a bar with which to judge takes away from my anticipation, being that it was a laughable film in every way and I saw it in theaters when I was 8!
Looks good. I'm a huge fan of Italian horror, so it's good to see a new Italian filmmaker trying to make his mark. The poster is gash though. ¬_¬
