'The Wolfman' Morphs in New Concept Art

While Universal Pictures' The Wolfman doesn't hit theaters until November, some Rick Baker concept art was discovered online that reveals the possible metamorphosis of Benicio Del Toro into the beast. Don't forget to see the early stills from the film in our gallery. Read on for the concept art from the Joe Johnston directed remake. Like the 1941 original that starred Lon Chaney Jr., new pic will be set in Victorian England. Del Toro will play a man who returns from America to his ancestral homeland, gets bitten by a werewolf and begins a hairy moonlight existence.

freakin bad ass! I like how they kept his original look, yet added a little to it, PERFECT! I sure hope they make an 18" figure of him.

"whats cool about it? it looks just like the make-up from the orignal." Congrats! You just won today's "Answer My Own Question" Award! It looks cool because after decades of Big Bad Wolves and overgrown dogs and CGI cartoons, and countless "reimaginings" of classic monsters that are nothing like the original, a major Hollywood werewolf picture is finally giving us an old school, Jack Pierce-style Wolfman.

I am so excited about the release of this film, i feel like i'm a kid again. Rick Baker is a master at special effects and his work has always been completely breath taking. If you ever get a chance to flip threw the film book for the PLANET OF THE APES remake, the pictures of his paintings and make-up works will bring a tear to your eye. Having never been a real fan of the Universal "Wolfman" compared to the Hammer Film "Curse Of The Werewolf", i feel this film will bring me closer to finally excepting it.

Everything I have seen and heard about this film has given me high hopes. By far the most anticipated film for me this year. Hopefully we can get an actual solid werewolf film. Its been to long since Ginger Snaps came out that we've seen any real good lycan films.

This was just a practice sketch Baker did that was posted on a Zbrush Forum. He never said it was actually used for the movie. Holy jump to conclusions guys!!

I can morph into something hairy too. But I shave it off at least once a week.

Wow, it's almost breathtaking. I agree, finally a throwback to a great visual image. Those pictures really have a lot of detail and hopefully it will be portrayed through the film.
