Very Interesting 'H2' Casting Call

As you all know Rob Zombie is off shooting H2, the sequel to his reboot of the Halloween franchise. While camera are rolling in Georgia, apparently the production team is still out casting some major roles for the film. This one is very interesting. Read on and see if you can help speculate what's up.

Here's the casting call that went out:

Daeg Faerch in Halloween[BOY] 8 to 11 years old, Caucasian, blond hair, blue eyes (long hair a plus), no taller than 4-foot-10. There's a veneer of innocence about him, but he's ultimately revealed to be very dangerous. We need a very capable young actor who is able to be both threatening and vulnerable...STRONG SUPPORTING ROLE

Ok, so I spent the past few hours with my thinking cap on and came to a few conclusions.

The first thought was that young Michael Myers might have an evil friend.

The second made a lot more sense. Have you seen recent pictures of Daeg Faerch, young Michael Myers? He's freakin' HUGE. My guess is that in order to have the flashback scenes that were rumored, Zombie is going to need a smaller version of Daeg.

We've been told Daeg is on set, so it looks like there could be a wide variety of flashbacks. I guess only time will tell.

The flashback of a smaller Daeg theory makes the most sense. Although nothing about this film has really 'made sense' so far...

Interesting. The second hypothesis is a great one... it just sucks that if they do have flasbacks it will be some other little kid and not Daeg. (I hate his name by the way)

If Daeg is huge and doesnt fit the profile of the young Micheal, why not just hire someone else for the job?I would love to see Daeg erased from H2.More back story for a character that needs no explanation of his past.

I've got an idea... DON'T DO FLASHBACKS. The backstory was covered fairly extensively the first go-around. Move forward, Rob. You can do it. Also, I played Guitar Hero with DAEG FUGENSHCRUMPT at the Seattle Crytpicon festival last year and he was portly then. He also smelled like garbage.

If u dont do flashbacks, that would mean Zombies wife couldnt be in this film.See where Im going with this

GGoblin31, i agree %100! PLEASE don't have flashbacks. they are almost never a good thing. i hate them on LOST (even though i love the show) and i hate them (usually) in movies too.

OK First of GGoblin31... I'm LMFAO at the last few lines in your comment! HA! Back to the post... I kinda perked at Mr. Disgusting's first theory. I like the idea of (if we MUST do flashbacks, I'm in agreement with GGoblin31 there) having something totally NEW!! A friend from the past, perhaps resurfacing in some way, either for good or for ill sounds fun. However, I am hoping we do NOT go the route of having some new kid have some psychic tie to Myers (a la H5)or any kind of 'passing of the torch' shit. This could really go in any direction right now but needless to say I'm very interested to see how it pans out. And on a side note, if wifey has to be in it, let's hope she's taken some acting classes. She seems sweet and fun in the bloopers on the dvd but Lord she needed an acting coach. Just sayin...

I thought Rob was gonna redeem himself and make a film for the fans but it seems he is still staying to the same format.

I'm a fan of the first film because it stayed true to the style that Rob Zombie has done in the past. I have no interest in a shot for shot remake of a film. I was looking foward to seeing what he could do with continuing the story, but this makes it seem like the flashbacks are going to be all over the place. Before the timeline of the first film, and then back to the asylum and then forward to the present. No more backstory development!

A very young version of Michael! WHOO HOO!!!

It's not Michael or young Mikey, it's a white trash kid who is having issues in a trailor court where Laurie sides at and he encounters Michael. Michael thinks of himself because the kid resembles him as a child.

you know, these flashbacks could in fact be at the asylum, so if daeg is bigger, who cares? So he could be 13 or 14 when they show him. I really don't see what the big deal is, flashbacks arent an issue for me. People will bitch just to bitch. I do wonder where those pics Zombie said we'd get are however......

What is this? The Exrocist 2. H2-Flashbacks!

5:59pm, February 25, 2009

Too bad the Weinsteins didn't see fit to hire this group of cretins to make the film. Obviously, that would have worked out ever so much better.

MyersKin80

People "bitch" about flashbacks because the remake was saturated in backstory. There's no need for anymore backstory unless it plays a part in a new direction for this particular movie.

WalkingDeadGuy

I am all for another "young" Michael. Not a fan of Daeg, just not a good actor and didn't think he was "creepy" :-/

This movie will suck. Hopefully I will be proven wrong.

Pikey, the Weinsteins called and said your deft insight has inspired them to rethink their whole production process. They are now handing over creative control to us cretins. Good luck with the whole not having a dick thing. Wanker.
