After bringing us the kickass Dawn of the Dead remake, we've all been dying to see Zack Snyder return to the horror genre. During a video interview with Collider (watch it beyond the break), Snyder reports that his giant zombie movie Army of the Dead won't be coming anytime soon. He tells the site that director Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. is now dealing with his remake of John Carpenter's The Thing (first reported here) and will hopefully return to the project when that's completed. Set in a quarantined Las Vegas in the not-too-distant future, Army revolves around a father who tries to save his daughter from imminent death in a zombie-infested Las Vegas.
If Zack were to direct another Dead film, I'd be all over it. Personally, I think he turned the success of Dawn into a chance to do some things he really wanted to do. Agreed, though, leave The Thing alone, that movie isn't exactly screaming for a remake.
I would like to see Zack do a remake of day of the dead he could turn that into the aliens of zombie movies. Cause we all know that the shitty remake with Ving rammes was the worst. I would love to see Zacks take on Day.
Hmm... kinda sounds like a ripoff of Steve Niles and Kieron Dwyer's 2004 comic, REMAINS.
