While Rob Zombie officially begins shooting his sequel to Halloween tomorrow, we've still got some casting news for ya. We learned this evening that Eileen Dietz, who is uncredited in The Exorcist as Regan MacNeil's (played by Linda Blair) double and Pazuzu's Face, will also find a role in Dimension Films' H2. Watch this spot for the first images from set later this week. Written once again by Zombie, the new film picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted.

I really can't wait for this movie. It's very cool that he got her in the movie. Can't wait!!!

This movie, is going to twat every other studio remake of a horror. Rob Zombie, is this generations Hooper in my opinion. He combines horror and gore, perfectly.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Zombie's Halloween remake...but does it have to be announced every time someone farts? I mean...I am all for cameos and bit parts by genre veterans...but I feel that "this actor/actress has a part, We got this horror vet, Remember (insert name)? We got (insert name)" takes away. Will an appearance by an Exorcist body double do anything to improve the script, the action or the direction of the film other than to get a few fan boys in an uproar? Any thoughts?

^^ i agree with you, its too get fans excited, but could she possibly have something besides a brief cameo?

did he say who she was playing? i hope its the cop from the casting call that Mr.Zombie sent out a while back

Looks like a bunch of stunt casting to me. Is there anything to this movie other than its fancy cast of returning genre favorites? There sure wasn't to the first movie.

You should actually check out her credits, so you don't sound so uniformed. She has done over 30 films in the last 10 years. FIve of which she has great leading roles, none of them she has does stunt work. Her scenes are quite nice actually, with well written dialogue and some pretty scarey effects. I can't wait to see her get some much deserved play in a major horror filck!

Hm, Gogo4Gore, I hope you weren't referring to me sounding uninformed, because I think you might want to re-check what "stunt casting" means so YOU don't sound uninformed in your rebuttals. I wasn't insinuating that she was providing "stunt work" or "double work", rather that her casting, as well as many others, looks like a ploy to get genre fans excited. Which seems to be working and, don't get me wrong, I'm glad that a lot of these faces are getting the recognition they deserve. I just think that having a cast full of beloved genre vets does not make a great movie. Still needs a good script. Still needs good direction. Will this movie have that? I have no idea. I guess we'll all wait and see.

I have to agree with Long Time Dead on the amount of casting news that has been promoted for H2. In a previous post I even defended H2 casting news because who knows if the news is being sent to generate interest, keep the film in the media, or if its the sites that pick up on the news, doing their job, that are to blame. I look forward and appreciate noteworthy casting news, but the bar band, and a stunt double, don't really excite me...but maybe there is some out there who really dig this news...

The casting of Pazuzu is about the only cool news yet surrounding this movie.

I agree Long Time Dead... It seems we've really hit a point of plain embarrassing with all of these "breaking casting news" updates. I can't foresee most, if not all, of these announcments being any more than another Tom's Harry Dick of Haddonfield, IL. I mean, sure it's cool to have cameos of "legendary" people in the biz but there were so many of these announcements made last time and it seemed 85% of these cameos ended up as deleted scenes on the dvd or not even scraped up off of the cutting room floor. Adrienne Barbeau anybody...?! It's just kind of a waste of time. I know he's trying to keep us all talking about it and interest up but it's just becoming dumb. Like I've said before, I enjoyed the remake. I am hoping for the best but I do have some concerns. It'll be interesting either way to see his vision of "H2".

These casting updates are based on Zombie blogs through which he wishes to keep his fans up to date on the progress of this important film. BD is doing a good job on keeping abreast of these developments that are a part of their horror reporting. If you're not interested, don't read 'em. Believe it or not, others are.

No offense to BD whatsoever Pike!!!. I love the site! I'm just speaking on a level of the randomness of the updates on Zombie's part. Maybe if he (like he did earlier) threw in a big announcement (McDowell) every so often it would make more sense to me. I do check BD and his MySpace updates everyday because I, like most everyone here, am interested and would like to have a little more that's all.

Long Time Dead
10:17pm, February 23, 2009

Same here Pike...nothing but love! Just as interested as you are...but don't feel that every hiccup needs to be reported. At this point I'm more interested in what scenes are being filmed, how the action is being fleshed out. I think everyone who is going to see the film is on board based on what they liked when they saw the first and what is coming from the sequel..not so much on how many vets they can bring in for cameos.

Hey Pike, I'm with Lomg Time Dead & MyersKin on this one. You know I'm a fan of RZ & his Halloween, and therefore read all the news that pops up, but after the big announcements there has been nothing but bit parts, and its not exactly been genre faves or excitement enducing news. It's like if y\they started reporting on who has been hired for Best Boy or Grip. PerhapsBD might just want to report on directing folks to the RZ blog for this minor news. That's all I'm saying; you know I've had your back in the trenches before....

I really hope this movie makes up for the last one. I was VERY disappointed in Halloween. I'm "Old School" when it comes to horror movies. There's way too much backstory in movies today. Why does this generation need everything spelled out for them? Imagination is way creepier, & more effective than having to explain evrything. I also don't like that Michael is a giant now. It doesn't make him any scarier by him being pro wrestler size. I'm 32, and grew up on Halloween....That's why I'm so jaded by Zombie's "Re-imagining". I really didn't like the kid that played young Michael(Daeg) I'm keeping an open mind about H2....Hopefully RZ will redeem himself with this one, being an original script & all. I loved his other movie's but was sooo let down by Halloween. Just my opinion....

This movie seems to have a great cast and I think Eileen Dietz is a great addition. Being her assistant now for 3 years I know that she wasn't contracted to be a body double, stunt double, they dont get residuals as she does. She had a pricipal contract for the demon who possessed regan and appeared as the Face of Death whom they called Capt Howdy. I am sure RZ will make this movie rock and I'm really looking forward to seeing it.
